    yes, yes... very clever
what i can't understand is why people are getting so bent out of shape when I'm just trying to give people an opportunity to win a handmade resin cast toy for free.
i didn't say go to KR and buy up all the labbits and [expletive deleted] and anything with the names mist or huckgee on it.
    that's all.
p.s. the name should probably be a little shorter.

I think what you're missing is, it seems, the whole point is to push and advertise YOUR art and YOUR figure for possible future sales/trades/work for YOU. It doesn't seem to be contributing to the community, it just seems like "Hey guys, look at me, look at my stuff, pretty good huh? Who wants some?" I mean, I don't see you contributing to many other discussions here other than ones based on you that you've started. Furthermore the attitude on this thing, in particular, seems like "I make resin figures for KR, but want that 'kaiju' market, so I'll make one that fits, 'Hedorah', good enough and seems to sell well!"

I mean, think about it: Newish guy on the board, only talks about his own work and what he's done elsewhere, no proof that he actually CARES about anything here. What are we supposed to think? I'm all for open mindedness and creativity and all, but it just seems like a huge publicity thing for yourself. It doesn't seem like "winning" it seems like "advertising." It doesn't seem like WE get something, it seems like YOU get something.

This is just the way it's coming off to me and I've just been glancing at the thread. I'm not saying it IS, it just SEEMS that way. And that doesn't fly here, even for free. Nothing personal, just trying to give you some perspective without being a smartass.

That's understandable....I'm am new to posting here and I have been sticking to my own topics because thats what I know. I'm completely new to this stuff and have always liked Hedorah. I never intended to win over kaiju fans with this figure. I also never intended to say "look at me aren't I great". If it came off that way I apologize. If any of you knew me you'd know I'm a straightforward and sincere dude.
I'm new to making toys and I'm new kaiju. If it's wrong to post about your own toys how else would anyone find out about them.
I'm just trying to learn and have fun with my art or whatever it may be. If I came off as a prick I'm sorry.

Also...I don't "make resin figures for KR"...I don't even like KR. I simply use their message board because there is a large and diverse crowd on there...as I stated earlier. I've had five or six contests like this on various forums and have never run into such disdain as I have here. It's not like I'm getting tons of publicity from these contests...my last figure was limited to 9 and I gave away 3 of them and the figure before I made 12 and sold 3...mostly to friends.

Honestly I'm just trying to fill a creative void in my life and if people aren't into they can just move along. No hard feelings and I wish everyone the best.

Shouldnt these be called sculptures or figures, i will never understand resin without moveable parts being referred to as "toys".

Yeah...I call them figures but I think it all falls under the generic umbrella term of "toys".
    Also it is articulated.

This is honestly what people have a problem with. You are new to everything here yet you are taking one of the most iconic characters in japanese monsters movies and RUINING him. Simply to try to capture our attention/money for your personal "spotlight". Even someone who made this abomination would get away with it in my book if he was like "sorry I'm just a tokusatsu fan trying to make a kaiju toy".

Sorry but I thought this was awful in the beginning but gave you a chance to explain yourself. I think everything is clear now and no reason to go on any further.
