Buta is releasing sets of his original character painted gacha minis (looks to be on GID or milky vinyl) and a slew of painted micros at Super Festival right now. Pegira, Jirass and Seabozu are visible from the brog pic. I can't make out the far right one.
Thanks for sharing Michael! Does anyone know about these? Mr. O mentions them as being available at the Mitsui booth. Is this Superfest as well? The cross-eyed fellow, and the side-looking suspicious eyes fellows are quite funny! Love the birds the best though! p.s. the cross-eyed fellow probably got that way, when one of the birds depicted, stomped on the poor fellow's chest! (viz, chicken feet prints on chest). Was it the bird on the left (trying to look bored and grumpy), or the one up front (unusually please look on his/her face!)?
Well... thanks... I'm happy you liked the pics The Bakura episode is one of the scariest of the series, and without spoiling for those who did not see it, Bakura is indeed a town parasite creature. So I wanted to put it in an urban setting with a scary effect... I'm usually not fond of toy pics taken outside in real settings, but for Spectreman & Bakura (well, and my VAG Goga previous pics, but that was for other reasons) I made an exception...
These were released for superfest Grace, blind-bagged in sets of three. The cross-eyed fellow is my favorite. @plasticXO glad we have another Buta devotee on the board and nice pics. I hope Ohaashi continues to explore the incredible stable of Spectreman villains. I was really impressed with Bakura in hand.
Has anybody got a spare of this wrapper? I know that a lot of you save packaging, but if you have a spare or don't save the packaging would you consider sending it my way? Not sure what such a thing would be worth in trade or cash. I want to put it in a small but nice matted frame; a little picture for our little house. Such cuteness, no?
@poysntixels Even if not, I am sure someone on here who has one would probably be willing to do a scan (heck with cameras these days, an HD pic is as good - or better) and maybe will share the file with the community. You could take it to a proper shop and print in on some nice stock then too. Just throwin' ideas out there folks, save the tomaters.
Thanks. While trying to get originals if I can, you have a great idea. I can print it out on my P-800 (one of the reasons I couldn't get a lot of toys last year, ha.) And since half the art degrees in this town are working in frame shops, it should be pretty doable. Would anyone care to help?
Good question! It wasn't specified in Mr. Ohashisan's blog. You might send a message to Maxaltoman. He posted his set in his instagram account. Very enviable to be sure! This is Maxaltoman's Instagram photo: He has the nicest toys too!
I love the little blue garamon. I always come here to see the nice toys, but I also secretly hope he does a Booska, Imora, and Chamegon release. a grown-ass man can dream...
Really nice colours. I keep forgetting why they're abit on the pricier side despite the size. Yeah digging that Garamon as well.
You people are nvts! Pink with sherbert sprays FTW! Google made a poem of Oohashi-san's prose: A human being hangs on the doctor I am crispy wood carving Finally today I got a word like a proof of healing I stroke my chest EDIT: Important and highly relevant link added.
Poor Mr. O! I've been worried about his last few posts. Seems to be hinting at a heart ailment? Hope you are feeling better soon Mr. O! I must admit, the Pigmon figure OG didn't appeal to me at first, but he's growing on me. This blue one is so nice! Is that metallic feet I see?
I guess I have to buck the waves here and say, to me, the OG still has it beat out. Classic Pygmon colours win over classic Gary, in this particular case. The contrasting balloon this time around is a nice touch, can we just get some extras of those, for more Buta ballooner armies? Interesting to see some very subtle changes to existing figures in that new lineup of suspects. Subtle changes to Goldon and Woo, for example, are possibly slight but offer - I think - an improvement as well to the earlier versions. Not so much that I would need to double up, but a cool way for people who don't have one, to have a shot at another. M1-Go is really nice, I do have to say; the blue and cream with some dark accents works very well. But, and this is not a criticism at all, I find these more 'realistic'/'involved' paint styles are entering much more traditional sofubi categories; i.e. these figures could easily be 'Buta as handled by Marmit painters.' {not sure if I am explaining it well enough here} And I like it very much, but it is a different take. I think it's a very fun compliment to the whimsy we almost always see from OMB. I think for me Goldon probably is the winner of the bunch, but only by a hair's breadth or so. Wonderful stuff, and such a delight to see.* * prepares himself for the inevitable release letdown
the extra brown is so nice on Goldon! not the biggest M1-Go fan but that cream on blue is really really nice
