hmm, contemplating whether i should take the plunge and get a hero, but deep down, i really want a gorilla. he's just too frickin awesome looking!
Totally agree! I know I will regret it for sure if I didn't take the plunge. Thanks again for the heads up Rich!
hmmm. wow. smaller than I expected too and I like small toys. pricey for sure at that size, but let's see what these dudes look like in hand. are the Gorillas this small as well?
Actually the price tag for Neo Gorilla is very reasonable. It being a very limited run and sold-out before Sufes even started. The fact that C was able to score this is pretty amazing. I think these guys would be flipped on YJA for way more. Typically the flippers on YJA would start posting by mid day, but its been a day and still nothing?! Neo Gorilla IS HOT!
I heard a few got bought up by flippers but these may have went direct to customers. Many people are not buying to flip these days too, a lot more people are just keeping the stuff.
That explains it, Dennis. So far my searches had gotten me, Japanese drama dvds and bicycle handle grips. Had any good ramen or gyozas lately?
You definitely do not see the lines of people that flip waiting to buy much anymore, most makers have also cut way down on how much they make too and you still don't see many things going for crazy prices unless its from the makers that have always been hard to come by. I moved recently and there is no great ramen here, passable but like in Tokyo it is not. I get a lot of great gyoza, my wife is the master so if you ever make it over let me know!
That's good to know. Hope it stays this way and keep the price tags in check. You lucky man, in-house gyoza master?!
just got home from work and saw the "altered man" sold out on lulu ... bummmmmmmmmed! these toys are so rad ... very refreshing to see the modern take on these clearly vintage-inspired characters
These are the kind of figures you want to keep in the packaging because it's so well done. Especially the Gorilla and 8 piece mini set. Nice debut.
the gorilla is just plain beautiful!! so much rad detail. If anyone happens to get the set and decides they don't like it...hit me up. I'm clearing some space on the shelf now.
I know it's gonna be a hard choice. Wish I had the money to order 1 of each so I could open 1 and keep the other one packed. I'll probably open it. I have no will power. Especially to see him crush some tanks.
Just saw these guys on the usual blogs and I definitely haven't had such a positive reaction to a toy in a long time. It sure is refreshing to see a toy getting so much love based on its design alone, though I'm sure in 30 pages someone will be telling us that we're sheep for falling for the hype. Now we can hope that Iluilu is in the mood to paint a bunch more so I can get my hands on some. Would love to get the set of mini owl guys. also this gif is blowing my mind:
These are awesome. Love to get my hands on a Neo Gorilla. The mini figures are cool also. The small header card for those mini states "Aaban Kaiju." Starting from the left of the large backing the kaiju's names given to each picture are Amitsuki, Shinbi, and Musabori (don't see Musabori as a vinly on that board).
It's nice to see some really TIGHT vintage style sculpts, instead of being gloppy to be edgy. Whomever sculpts those is super talented and the packaging sells the toys. I managed to land a full card of the Owls. Damn the dollar sucks.
