Wait wait wait, ribbon controller = SlavexOne? Wow... Thank goodness this conversation came up then, I've bid on a few cheap Gero on eBay in the past. Never won any, but now I definitely won't even try. Sad too, because I really like what Unaffiliated SJ has been doing with his additions to the sculpt. Also, I kind of know the person who sold that lot. (I say kind of because they withdrew from social media and I haven't heard from them since.) They really REALLY took a huge loss on that, but they needed the money immediately. Their health took a bad downward turn. Really unfortunate that they chose Gero as their go-to collection piece. Anyway, like I said earlier... If you fall on hard times, there's nothing wrong with selling toys. I've seen tons of people sell their toys as soon as they got them in the BST, still in the bag because they spent too much, they didn't need money when they pre-ordered but they needed it now, they don't like the color, it's too big, etc. Difference is, they sold it for what they paid. There is something wrong with flipping toys for maximum profit, especially when there's so much hard work and love put into making a toy. If these were "just plastic toys" we would be collecting hundreds of Funko POP!s instead of sofubi. My dog's vet bill is only rising. $1,500 the first time, $450 the last time, and likely will be another $400 if they recommend an ultrasound by the end of the week. I had to sell toys to fund it. But I sold it here. There really is no excuse for flipping, especially if you have a sofubi toy of your own in production. My gawd, that just blows my damn mind. Maybe this isn't the right community or market for you if this is how you treat the toys of your fellow makers. EDIT: Deactivated his IG, nice.
