Sho' yo' Butas for Lixx

^Indeed! I was just going to mention that, but I see you beat me to it. The green hat/boot combo gets me every time, how much I would love to have my packages (and gifts!) delivered by this fella to my door. Talk about a mail day treat. Very nice pair of toys, Manny, happy birthday indeed, hope it was a brilliant one for you!

 

That's a very good question. I am guessing few to none, and those that did are likely still waiting for the toys to make their way over to the new homes, but hopefully a few SBers scored, without having to resort to those insane prices. It is a sad day when there is such a large fanbase of us here. and yet the toys are getting ever more difficult to 'distribute' among members of our little circle who just want to love and adore them. Could be more attention, could be fewer numbers, could just be general difficulty in acquiring them (though that still wouldn't account for what we have seen in relation to previous releases which were sent out to other outlets). But I don't think I have ever seen the same turnaround as we do now, with the exception of maybe the Gundam figures, and when you consider that these were all re-releases of figures already out there, two with only minor changes, I am left scratching my head. Hopefully the recent batch - as much as I want to see new sculpts from OMB - is a sign of increasing numbers in the wild to reduce demand (though it hasn't seemed to), and if Gammy is any indication, I would really like to see some re-issues of figures that don't already have multiple variants out there, to satisfy some deep longing for hard to come by characters. I am not advocating mass-production (not that it would detract at all my liking for them any), after all, his personal paint touches and quirks are a massive part of the appeal for these toys, but it is good to know that the old molds are out there for the future, to potentially re-create the toys. Now I find myself wondering what an 'artists' impression lineup might look like for some of the Buta toys.

 

The online shop, when/if you could get in, does not do international sales, Manny. You need to have a Japanese mailing address as well as a Japanese bank account to do the direct payment transfer. It is not exactly an easy thing, but is doable. But for the average person, it would have to come from someone doing a favour or buying service, and this whole nature of needing a middleman, particularly with no 'retailers' outside of the country having guaranteed stock/ordering capability, along with the already difficult nature of even getting in to the sales period (they typically sell out on the website within a couple minutes), well..... it ain't easy being a fan.

 

Beautiful stuff man, no reason that I can see why they can't both be top dog in their own right, maybe they can agree on 'best brown and yellow Buta' and 'best blue and yellow Buta,' or maybe, 'best yellow mountain monster Buta' and 'best yellow astromonster Buta'?

Regardless, they are gorgeous, and rendered more so by that lovely natural sunlight. Congrats on a pair of great monsters!

 

Wow Grace, that is some incredibly nice find. Your Buta fairy sure was watching over your shoulders I think. That is such a delight; congratulations!

 

Since Grace had asked about the micro car I had posted, here it is again with the large accessory he came packaged with (along with some great stickers too! ).

 

Oh wow, Brent! That is a heavy-hitting foursome. Glad you got these guys all cleaned up, they look gorgeous (isn't bathing toys fun? ). Zarab in disguise is really haunting me especially.
