In case anyone didn't notice, we've got an opening tonight with Martin Ontiveros and Jeremy Tinder, 7-10pm...and Martin is coming in for the opening. Anyone coming out to give Martin a CASK greeting? I suspect the usual post-opening get together at Cleo's will be in effect.
I saw the preview I wanted to be there, but my duty as a son made me fly down to Jacksonville, FL. I'll be there next weekend to check it out.
thanks for another incredible show, kirby. you not only pick just fantastic artists, but super friendly ones to boot. talking to martin about his inspirations and excitement over music and toys and the gargamel crew was a bonus. seeing his artwork in person opened up my eyes to a whole new level of appreciation. i'll upload a photo of the sketch he did for me (in new claw style) later. oh, he also spilled a hint of new toys! jeremy, of course, was just as open about his thoughts and process as always. his new bloody, violently dark direction was quite surprising. he revealed that one of his new works was going to be much darker, much bloodier, with only one person left standing at the end. i can't wait to see his new animation-style paintings. i didn't run into any skullbrainers, though. did you guys show up later and close down the bars again? great show all around!
not just one, but two! and not what anyone expects, either. he was visibly excited about it. as am i!
Thanks everyone who came out! And those who didn't, next time! .... Or swing by anytime between now and November 8. And of course special thanks to both Jeremy and Martin. Getting to hang out some with Martin was cool...especially going to Kuma's for a bite on Saturday night. The High on Fire is an amazing sandwich, but I might have just been drunk.
