SO bummed about this guy passing, rather than go on about how much I enjoyed the early era of AC/DC, I will just say thank you to you sir,

Have to agree, early AC/DC were very, very important to me when I was a kid discovering my own music. Malcolm was the solid backbone of the group. No frills, and no bullshit from him, just solid as fuck rhythm and dry as fuck comments in interviews.

I will always picture him bolt upright flexing to the beat, with that huge fringe in his face, playing and singing like a man possessed.

    RIP Malcolm.

The New Yorker has a great write up on how much impact he had on music and seeing only the stones as their peers.

Certainly one of the easy access bands that led the way into my prepubescent music explorations and eventual love of everything rock n metal n whatever’s got groove.

I remember finding a cassette of highway to hell and the scorpion’s Blackout when I was about 11 in some old box one of my aunts had left at my grandmother’s. There was no turning back.
