So I finally got around to sculpting my Mo'.

Leecifer Resin cast Mo & Painting

Titles - "Malpas Moe" (resin figure) , "Returning Home" (painting)
    Size - 4" x 6" (resin figure) , 9" x 24" (painting)

FYI Malpas is a fallen angel who can appear as a crow.

The Mo' looks great. Very clean sculpt, the translation to 3-D is so perfect. I'd be interested in seeing the sculpt with no paint to see the shapes of the sculpt a bit better

    Wow! Great job Lee!

I love how the two display together 8)

Kinda sorta reminds me of the Easter Island heads.

    Thanks for the support folks!!!

Yes I do need to post up some unpainted pics and will do some more soon! I actually pressed slate into this to get a rocky finish, but my crappy sculpting technique looks very rocky anyway. I was really pleased w/ it.

REdYOdA - Yes they are modeled after Moai (Easter Island Heads)!

    First - Zaaier, Thank you!

Well it's not as easy as I recall. I think temperature is a huge factor (at least in regards to the cold ass garage).
I now have much more respect for the folks that have been bustin' this stuff out for awhile and doing it well.
There's a learning curve that I'm going to have to over-come to do the more eye-catching coloration's, but I'm bound to want to paint at least some portion of the fig.

I'm not really answering your Q am I?
HELL YES! Worth every frozen fingered moment!

Leecifer--I agree with much of what has already been said--great translation to 3D resin!

I just noticed that the resin lacks a mouth & the ear detail the paintings have... Is that intentional or did you just get too obsessed with the buttcrack (which makes me chuckle every time)? :)

Cool Cliff!!! We'll have to make that work.

Bunnyboy - I'd like the resin pieces to have less detail so I can paint what I want in terms of expressions (diff mouths, teeth, etc). I wanted him to look a bit lost/sad so I didn't give him a mouth and then liked the simplicity so I nixed the ear detail as well.

But you got me on the buttcrack. I was so proud of myself that I put up a sticky note in my work area that says 'More Buttcrack".

Yeah, I meant paint-wise. I didn't notice until looking at the piece today for the third or fourth time and I agree it works well, I was just wondering because I know myself that sometimes you get so focused on a certain aspect that you simply forget about others...

And I think you deserve to be proud of that buttcrack! :D
