KAIJU KOLLISION Art by Koji Harmon and Joshua Herbolsheimer Opening Party at Super7 Store April 13, 7-9pm Super7 Store presents a Kaiju Kollision by two artists separated by the Pacific, featuring custom painted vinyl figures by Koji Harmon of Tokyo and paintings by Joshua Herbolsheimer of San Francisco. Koji will be offering over 40 hand painted one of a kind soft vinyl toys and a series of toy photographs! Joshua has created a colorful series of paintings on wood panels featuring landscapes and characters direct from his mind. Super7 has teamed up with both artists to release a toy and print set. The set will feature four 9"x12" two color silkscreen prints with artwork by Joshua and a 9" tall Gargamel Hedoran, each hand painted by Koji. The Hedoran is flesh vinyl with red/black/silver spray. Since Koji hand painted each one there is a secret surprise, 1 of every 10 figures will have a one of a kind paint job. Each toy is blind bagged. Limit 1 per customer. All items from the show will be offered first at the opening of the show, the remaining items will be made available at 11am Saturday April 14th on www.super7store.com
wow that looks like a must have set. the prints are awesome and that is one of the better colorways of the hedoran as well. hopefully can score a set on the super7 webstore after the show! hope it goes good, though i'm sure it will!
The Hedoran looks great! The red on the flesh color vinyl gives it a nice vintage look. The joshuajh prints look rad too. I hope I can score this set!
Am I the only one who hopes the blind bag hedorans will be black with a white question mark on their chest?
These S7 events look like such a blast. I am actually going to NYC this weekend with my girlfriend visiting NYU for her final grad school options. She is basically down to 2 choices, NYU and USC in Los Angeles. I hope she chooses USC, then I would be really close to San Francisco to make it to these sweet events! The decision will be made soon! Anyway, this event is sure to be truly awesome!
Personally, I can't wait to see what Koji might've done with some of these ... But I FEEL for you man! Really I do! Heh! Heh-heh! Heh-heh-heh-heh-heh!
Indeed Los Angeles isn't terribly close to San Francisco, but it is a whole lot closer than NY to San Francisco!
Yeah, and you'd be much closer to San Diego as well. SF may have the better toy stores, but SD gets the better conventions for toy collectors. Warmer beaches than ours, too. LA - SF is about a 6 hour drive. Not so bad if you want to attend the weekend Super7 events.
The toys Koji hooked up are BRIGHT! lots of good ones, it will be a hard choice. Josh has some wild scenes cooked up too. Here is a flick of the amazing mystery packaging.
Im soo stoked for this!I hate to say it, but I think this will be better than the S7 opening party, for me at least.
