Any suggestions on a proxy service that will place orders via phone? Considering getting in on a preorder for a Taisho toy from Yamanaya and it looks like they will only take orders via phone. My Usual ZenMarket/Buyee isn't going to work on this one.
I can’t help you with your problem, but my goodness what a way to do things. I think if I ever have a toy, I’m going to do a mail order only release where you have to send a check or money order in and allow 6-8 weeks for delivery. For nostalgia’s sake.
Haha, I know, right? Might as well throw a fax machine into the mix too! It's probably more trouble than it's worth, but I've wanted one of those cool guys
Can't lend any assistance on this front, I am afraid. But I do find it quite fascinating (if at times inconvenient) how many things I experienced when living in Japan could be such a hurdle because of seemingly old fashioned ways of handling things/business. But then when you reflect on the rich traditions that the country and its people continue on regularly, which is so unlike the rest of the world, I will gladly welcome all of these minor things to have that preservation. But yeah, phone order only I can appreciate poses a challenge. By the same token though, we're often ranting for anti-flipper precautions, so I do have to say, this probably works, haha. Maybe someone local can do you a solid on this occasion?
