it's all about "permissions"... people just allow everything without taking time to think about how those permissions integrate to form a detailed data profile about you. i'm staunchly anti-facebook, simply because i don't need another way to waste time during the day. and honestly, if i had wanted to stay in touch with the people i went to high school or college with, i would have fucking called them. (but that's a completely different rant...) the thing with instagram that starts getting into that data profiling area is the geotagging, which i don't allow anyway. but if you're doing things like four square and facebook check-ins and all those "cool, look where i am" sort of things, you should really look into the "girls around me" app that caused such an uproar that it was pulled from itunes because it was basically the perfect stalking app.
All I need to know is what to make so facebook or zynga will throw money at me...or the winning lotto numbers.
This honestly bums me out, Instagram kept my interest just enough to entertain me and pull me away from my laptop/facebook/twitter/tumblr and everything else I check daily. I really don't think anyone enjoys facebook anymore, I never sit on it longer than it takes to see if I have any notifications.
Facebook is maybe a once a week thing for me. the constant pokes regarding helping someone get a magic crystal for their imaginary chicken farm got old quick.

I've had tons of problems since they opened it up to Android. I hate to say that, but it was pretty much from that day forward when I used it for a year with no issues.
