love the new header. the white box on the lower right means there will be a release.... hopefully.
Judging from the comments on this instagram post, it seems like emails were only sent to the people who were at the show. oh well.
Maybe I'm missing something in the translation but it just appears the usual Chinese chancers blowing smoke up Hirota's ass. I don't see any real confirmation that emails have been sent.
Wow, how time flies. Feels like just yesterday it was Utsugiyo week on IG.
It’s a new era the 24/7 sofubi era IG is like CNN for sofubi now
It changes so rapidly...I mean, I GOTTA know who is needy for what toy every minute of the day.
Ridiculously accurate but everyone seems to skip step 3 these days and come out of the gate with $200-$500 dollar price tags.
Ha ha. So much ass kissing on IG.
@taviq There's a lot of chapped lips out there in gram land.
Whoops!..Sorry guys...I was drunk and thought I was on pornhub when I posted that.
Happens to me all the time on this board...glad I’m not the only one
mini Brutal Ace. I wonder if Hirota Saigansho has one in the works...
Remember how there was that huge argument about PlanetXAsia/Vintage Vinyl Club just cashing in on ripping off hyped toys etc and it was this whole thing where people thought it wasn't a total cash-grab, it was true art blah blah blah.. I present Exhibit F above
Meh, I saw it this morning and I think that it's cool. Isn't like 99% of kaiju just rehashes of others designs?
Don't get me wrong, I think there is a line that can be crossed somewhere, but (in my opinion) this isn't it.
But I am aware that my opinion here is probably in the minority.
Then again, Instinctoy Vincent is one of my favorite toys, and I've heard people saying that is also a HxS ripoff too.
People will have their own opinions, and I respect them. Personally, I don't think PlanetX is more of a ripoff than anyone else.
I agree with you max, since the HxS Brutal A is really just a soft vinyl of the vintage Black Ace model and not an original design. It’s kind of like several artists making a kougai, I guess you could say that figure is synonymous with Bemon but it’s not his original design, so you can’t get too bent out of shape when others make a version.
Agreed....no one seems to have gotten bent out of shape with the endless iterations of the Melies moon. I’m not even sure who even started the trend in soft vinyl at this point (Yoda possibly?) and don’t care really. A lot of them have merit as different interpretations.
I actually like those better than a lot of Planet-X stuff I’ve seen, but not enough to pull the trigger.
But to @badteethcomics point, is it a cash in on the flavor of the month? Probably. I doubt you are far off the mark there. Probably not a lot of cash to made with such a release, so probably more a labor of love. If it’s done well, people enjoy it, and the makers had fun, I say no harm no foul.
I'm not sure this is a planet x toy, where did you see that?
Doh! Well, whoever made it, it’s a fun little addition to the burgeoning interpretations of the original.
Yeah, I like it better than HxS version I think. Brutal A was one of my least favorite of his toys tbh.
This feels very off to me. I'm doubtful this is a "labor of love" because only 5 are pictured with OMG A SUPER SECRET CHASE IN THE BACKGROUND SALE 2 ME!!!
Also, look at the "belt" area and tell me this is not a super-shitty paintjob...
Also, they don't appear to be articulated. These look like they could just be a little hand made resin project.
I thought the same... Totally possible!
That alone proves to me it’s not a labor of love. You can’t even bother to paint the toy properly since you know it’ll sell, no matter how shit, to the hot loving fucks.
Okay, maybe it’s not a labor of love. If it’s a run of 5 fucking minis, they sure are making out like bandits! Wooeee, they can take their 300 bucks and ride off into the sunset. Or better yet, multiple runs and maybe cover 2 months rent.
I don’t care about the toy or it’s origins or intentions to be honest. I just think there is zero issue without someone else besides Hirota making a version of the toy.
Speaking of cash grabs, *cough* Phillips Auctions *cough*
