No gelato related job on the other hand it is food related. I am working for a local store/patisserie/confiserie called Miette. My pinky will still be held very high as I pick up things and talk about them. Job will be cool but just in a completely different way.
Wait... I haven't gotten used to the new store move (or have even been there yet) and now I have to deal with you moving on! *sniff* Going to miss you but I'm excited that you'll working for another one of my favorite SF go-to places! Best of luck to you Alex and hope to catch you at the store before you're gone!
I remember the event that sparked our first meeting as if it were yesterday. I had been wandering the streets of San Francisco in the pouring rain for a couple of hours feeling old, alone and rejected. My wonderings had taken me to Japan Town and to the door of S7. The shop was empty except for your lone figure standing at the checkout counter, the glow from a laptop shining off your chubby little cheeks. I hesitantly ventured inside, totally puzzled by the contents of this unusual place. I was immediately made to feel at home by your warm smile and kind eyes. You excused yourself and disappeared into a back room leaving me alone to puzzle over the strange array of figures before me. You appeared moments later with a large cup of hot tea with lemon and honey and a clean towel to dry my rain soaked head. Then the magic began as you proceeded to guide and educate me into the mysteries of kaiju. Your knowledge and abilities to convey the nuances of the complicated world of vinyl arts had me inthralled. I don't know if I have ever conveyed to you what a life changing day that was for me. I am forever in your debt and your shinning presence, when walking through the door of S7, will be tremendously missed. "You are the wind beneath my wings"
While I would say that I am going to miss Alex, it isn't 100% the case, as he will still be here on Sundays. I will just not get to see him as often. The opportunity presented to Alex is a great one, and I encourage him to take it full hilt. The great part about hiring great people, is that they will continue to grow and become even more interesting than they were before, even when that means they have to grow beyond your grasp. It is like watching your kids leave home. Looks like we will just have to plan Cupcake Sundays at the store. Gelato Saturdays are also an option.
Whoa! I'm still getting used to the new store location. Now I have to get used to your familiar face being absent? Good luck with your new job. You'll still drop by show openings, parties and whatnot to do show commentary and interviews, right? Right? Please? Super7 tradefests might get a bit more interesting, eh?
I knew you before Super7 Alex, so it's just natural you keep progressing. Have a great time at the new job!
thanks for all alex, you know why ! hope you will give us some news here too : http://www.bannedindc.com/
Alex, you and I have had minimal interaction, but I know you are for sure an awesome dude, best of luck with everything!!
Darn, we're gonna miss you being more of a regular on SB! Glad we'll still see you at SDCC though. Twinsies?
ha... there weren't any bloopers. pretty much anything remotely funny was kept in. only the boring stuff was cut out.
