What's the blue rat from?
@Fig Belly snuck it in
got my second bag a day or so ago, and it's the same as @Geobukgan's left bag. happy to have no duplicates and glad to get the zag and mini unpainted black tetran. the very silver teeth of the thrash out tetran were bugging me in photos, but it looks much better in person. now to track down strays!
The rat is Oscar the Mouse who is a little buddy to Bwana's new character Trashcan, a garbage monster.
Fuck it. I held out as long as I could. Next year was going to be my first shot at a LB but I caved and grabbed one from Super 7. There's only one bag I wasn't into so hopefully that means I'll pull a fun one. I've enjoyed these threads every year I've been a member here but something about Gargamel finally clicked for me recently and possessed me to start collecting it.
Welcome to Hell
I wouldn't say hell. Gargamel is not the hypebeast landmine that some other makers can be. Gargamel are my favorite sofubi makers by far, and I can say that getting into older releases has become increasingly difficult as the second-hand supply has dried up in recent years. Bwana Spoons is carrying the GGML torch (imo) and making such toys more accessible for Americans than they would be otherwise.
That being said, good luck, you'll need it!
@666doll haha thanks, what's a little more hell in one's life.
@hellscrape you went from not saying hell to wishing me luck because I'll need it! Very ominous!
Thanks all. I guess we have a misery loves company situation here. I look forward to all the turmoil I've just invited into my existence.
It just depends on how you go about collecting GGML. A lot of us tried to be completists and that doesn't always work out well. Focus is the key
My personal strategy for piece of mind has been to limit myself to one of each sculpt. I find my favorite colorway for each sculpt and get that. There are a few toys that have multiples (Deathra, Zagoran, Oozebat) but this strategy allows me to have a clear picture in mind of my collection and parameters so that I don't go off the deep end.
I definitely share this sentiment- I’ve recently refocused my collecting, and ggml has become more of a focus, and I wish I had done it earlier. Prices ar going up everywhere, that’s a given, but I think the slowdown in releases in the last 10 years years or so has caused collectors to hold onto older figures rather than cycle through- selling older stuff to make room for new… and the stuff that is out there to buy is getting bought up. I feel the same way about Secretbase fighters. With very little new coming out, it’s just long haul collectors filling in gaps when the odd piece does pop up for sale.
Today's favourite shelf . . . with thanks to a couple of SB regulars!
Shout out to @666doll - I know he was pulling his hair out with this years LB and delays. Never an issue from my side and I’m really happy with this years score… thanks John and Gargamel!
Great stuff! Mecha Miborah for the win!
Love this. I hope they reissue or correct the fullsize zagoran. It's the only one with the reverse sprays.
How long does Super7 usually take to ship?
Got my bag pretty quick from Koji/ Kiyoko, really happy with my pulls.
My brain hurts looking at this
Got my lucky bag today! Super pumped to get the green Tetrans, as that's what I was shooting for!
I believe this is the names of everything, but I'm confused on the micro's names as they weren't listed in the first post. Not sure I love the Standing Hedo (I'm a bright colors 90s kid), but the sculpt is cool. Would someone mind educating me as to why this color way is referred to as Thrashout?
Standing Hedo - Thrashout
Beta Tetran - Blank Florescent Green
Mini Alpha Tetran - Blank Florescent Green
Clear Grey Vendorbot One (Treads)
Cyclo Micro Machine - Trans Black
I like the micros waaaaay more than I thought I would, and now I want to get them all...
Nice bag @Horsefeathers ! Nice shot of the micros. Those are tough to capture. Lemme know if you dont want that hedo Got mine in today too. What I got was one of my favorite bags from this year. I'm hooked!
@Horsefeathers Thrashout was the name of Gargamel's first now closed gallery.
I see; i appreciate the info.
Stopped by S7 today and pulled almost the same bag as Horsefeathers. The heads on my Tetrans are switched and one of the micros is different. Very happy with the Hedoran (even though it's not the Bako). S7 has one more bag at the store if someone wants one.
Separate names with a comma.
