@TiredChildren Yeah no shit. How exactly does that add to this discussion? Also, according to @kichigai's pms, neither rape nor AIDS (nor very specifically "cunt") were the problem, but the fact that I wished either of those on poor, defenseless, very hypothetical children.

 

I was venting, I didn't consider it "funny", but so over-the-top and grotesque that surely nobody would get offended over it, much less consider me being "serious" (again, in a thread that's meant to vent). Like I told John (who, frankly, seems the only person actually offended by whatever) in a very early pm, he of all people should know my humor and that he could've just reached out in a less patronizing and condescending manner than he did and simply told me that it's a personal issue for him and I would've edited it immediately. But nooo, here we are, because @kichigai, @TiredChildren & @toothaction felt the need to TAKE IT FROM PM TO PUBLIC AGAIN (!) (even though we now have that nifty feature where you can create multi-user convos). Great job everyone.

 

I'm trying to have a discussion that YOU brought into the public space, you're calling me names and then telling me what the "mature" thing to do would be. Maybe you should take a fucking break and enjoy the weekend. I know I will.

This was never personal for me. It's a much larger viewpoint which I am speaking to.

I am glad things went the way they did today. No more time spent will make it more clear.

Whoever smashed your bike is an asshole. It happens all the time where I live. I see it weekly with disregard to others.

Two months ago there was a mass shooting here. Most of those folks were elderly people! Senseless. Painful.

Last week in same area, assholes were posting Klan literature. None of us can stay quiet.

A guy in my neighborhood hit a lady in a crosswalk a month ago and never stopped. If not for someone seeing it he would have got away.

A guy at a Steelers football game choked a pregnant woman after trying to toss her husband over a gaurdrail last week.

Fucking people are going nuts!

Did your new dog continue to be ok? Did you ever report the assholes that abused the dog?

 

McGruff is wonderful! One of the most loving and gentle dogs I've ever known. A friend of mine is a nurse at an old folks home so McGruff gets to go hang out with old people every Sunday. He loves it. A few dozen people all taking turns petting him and calling him a good boy for just laying on the floor. Hopefully being so spoiled now is making up at least a little for how hard his life was before.

Nope I never reported the previous abusers. I didn't want to send nice animal cops to a house full of paranoid drug dealers. Would not have ended well. But not long ago I saw that whoever actually lived there was getting evicted anyway. Big notice on the door and no more cars in the driveway at all. You would think drug dealers could afford to pay their rent...

 

I'm pretty sure that's sarcasm and you're not 'glad' at all . . . but that once again it demonstrates my point.

As a mere member of this 'community', the freedom of free speech, being able to say/post what I think, and even being a dick, is my prerogative. Surely yours as a moderator is to calm shit down in the quickest and most amicable way possible when required. Calling someone a 'giant cunt' seems pretty inflammatory and counter productive to a moderators role.

Given the current posting cohort I'm sure that there are way more qualified snowflakes than you, that could do the job with a more balanced perspective!

So glad to hear, tho wish you had reported the bastard who did that to the dog you rescued. Even more happy to hear how he brightens others lives.

I am glad you were able to rescue the dog you did, but if the bastard is on record for abusing animals it would prevent (in most cases) them from adopting a new dog.

Karma will eventually get that bastard.

Anyone who abuses animals should have to walk from New Jersey to California without a break. Not much that bothers me more in this world.

At least people can fight back.
