Five Points Festival - June 2018

I've been meaning to post something about this for seriously two full weeks, but those weeks have been crazy. This year's Five Points was pretty amazing. I didn't have an endless budget, so there was plenty of stuff I wasn't able to get. But I am super happy with the amazing amount of toys I was able to get. I gotta say I think this year was even better than last year. Honestly, I think this year it would have been cool enough to go both days. Really pumped to have had as many good times as I did, with so many of my favorite friends and favorite artists. Way, way, way too many to name (however shoutouts to Amy and David from Lulubell Toys, y'all are a got dam treat!).

As amazing as everything was I will also leave a list of complaints:
-it was too hot, and also I got sunburned
-I kinda wish drinks were more readily available (not just booze, but also water)
-craft beer taste like trash juice (c'mon Brooklyn hipsters don't y'all have any Natty Boh or PBR for chrissakes?)
-I missed the MVH release because I was eating a waffle (it was a delicious waffle tho)
-Joe (Splurrt) had a whole grip of amazing stuff I missed (my fault, I can drive 3 and a half hours for a toy show, but I can't also be early!)

I believe that concludes my list of complaints. Can't wait for next year!

Great rundown and great gets. Waffles were great, no water was rough, and I also missed some stuff from being distracted.

history lesson for the day :D (someone correct me if I'm wrong)
bullmark did a number of releases with metallic blue on red vinyl: zanika, varan, garuban, gudon, takkong, shugaron... probably others, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head, but I'm pretty sure the first release in that style was minya (which was also produced by shimada toys, who for a short time helped fill the sofubi gap between marusan closing, and bullmark starting to release figures):

In this interview with Saboru Ishizuki, he actually mentions how Minya's colors were inspired by Spiderman! :D
