I love this Jomon fig from Marmit. I'm really tempted to give it worn-stone paint job though. (Edit!) So I HAD to do it! Here's the results, just an example of how really nice this fig could be!
I had to pass on this first release as I wasn't crazy about the colourway. The worn stone look brings out all of the detail that seems lost in the original.
I like it! So the new Dogu release is in unpainted brown vinyl, I guess? I thought the one sold back at the toy show was gunmetal. Hmm.
the dogu would look cool a aged bronze water fountain style paint job also..it actually looks like an old relic..very cool
Yeah, I've got the gun metal one. First time I've seen the brown. Looks great Paul, I may have to hunt down another one to. . .
I got 2 with the idea of having one painted; I'm thinking burnt terracotta (like raku ware), but that burnt stone looks very sharp!
The stone looks way better than the original brown (and your photos of the brown version do it a lot more justice than any others I've seen), but I'm still sticking by my original statement that I'm not taking the plunge until I see one in GID.
Yeah, I think a nice flat Terracotta would be more true to the originals and look really nice a bit "dusted up". I wanted this one to match a Gashapon i own.
I really like the PK version. The color gives it real weight....like it's gonna crack that table it's standing on. Great job as usual man.
I know I've seen one somewhere...it was either a Chocovader or from that Medicom Museum of Mysteries series.
wow....how hard is that to come across? I'd have to classify this culturally relevant type of vinyl as my current favorite expression in this medium...I'm kind of getting that 'must have' sentiment looking at that.
Medicom released this like Ricky said under the Mystery Museum series 2 But this has a long history in Jpn. This guy even had a prominent role in the Doraemon movie Birth of Japan.
