Beech Billy kitted out with all-glass shelving and the aluminium framed glass doors (sans handles) . . . works like a charm!
I think i might have to check Argos and see if they do an alternative because on the ikea website my post code is invalid so i take it they dont deliver outside of the store areas pain in the arse!
Yeah, to be honest, I think I'd rather some retro thing with a glass from than the detolf. Something very sterile and soulless about them.
ive only just started collecting i have about 7 space troopers a gid bop dragon and two boogie men but im always buying new figures so i thought it was time i got a display case.
Go to charity shops, you can get way more interesting display cabinets for dirt cheap. Practically falling over them in the shops round here.
Here is what I bought from Argos.Delivery from Argos is £5.95. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/p ... rice+Cut=1 Its sturdy compared to the cheaply made Ikea detolfs. The back is mirrored too.Its pricey though. If I had to do it again Id probably buy cheap detolfs and spend the money on toys!! Risers were bought off ebay uk.Here are how many toys you can fit on one shelf:
If you do go the ikea route, here's a tip - buy a bunch. When my girlfriend and I moved into our apartment we hit Ikea for display and book cases along with other furniture. Once you add on a bunch then the delivery fee becomes more reasonable PLUS you're not humping that stuff from Ikea to your home.
. . . and you don't run the risk of 'em changing the design or it not being available 6 months down the line (sometimes happens when they are forced to change suppliers)
Also, just something I've noticed here, but IKEA stuff keeps getting cheaper and cheaper in construction. I had a dresser I bought to throw clothes in and didn't fell like finding something pricey to move when I have to and I put my finger with one of the metal fixtures through both sides of a drawer as I was putting it together. Quality.
