I really like those playful pets, perfect combination of cheapo bootleggishness and nice colors/sprays.

^^ Yeah, i missed a full carded set of them on ebay a while ago and was a bit miffed with myself.
I forgot to bid and then they were gone . . .

Does anyone now anything about this little cutie? Picked it up at boot-sale.
It looks Japanese to me but who knows . . . there are no makers marks of any kind.
Standard coin bank plug in the bottom, about 80mm long. Made from soft vinyl.

    This guy is called 'Flunchy'. I think he's French . . .
I dont know if he's from a cartoon or is a company mascot.
    1996, 70mm high - 30p at a boot-sale.

Fix from 'Fix und Foxi'. German cartoon.
    9" high . . . made in 1965. Articulation on the head.
    He's made of nice and sturdy soft vinyl . . . .

Those are great finds Moog! You have sure been turning up some real treasures. This thread and the yard sale should be re-entitled Moog's treasure hunts. I love it! :) That first Fix und Foxi guy is especially great. He is already for a hockey match - a toy after my own heart. I have been a Rolf Kauka fan since I was a kid.

    ^^ Oh really? . . . thats cool . . . I'd never heard of him until i started researching these toys!
They say 'Fix und Foxi' was one of the most successful and best known German comics, ever.

I will definitely be tracking down a few more from this series of toys. They are well made and nice and chunky.
The articulated heads are a nice touch and unusual for squeakers.

^^ Glad you peeps enjoy them . . . i have fun taking photos of 'em.

Here's two more 'treasures' from a boot-sale. The seller found them in an attic (loft) . . . she had loads of very old dollies and four plastic toys which i snapped-up.
I've only taken pics of these two so far. I'm guessing the red Post Box is most likely 1970's but the Duck Hoopla looks older to me, maybe even 50's.

Mothercare. Made in England. 10.5" high.

Mr. Duck has a makers mark of a 'PP' inside a sun or star . . . i have no idea who the manufacturer is.
Or maybe it just stands for Polypropylene . . .
Made in England. 13.5" High. Its a nice bonus that two of the hoops remain.

^^ Same boot-sale as above. I like to think of him as a 'Station Master' bear.
He's definitely quite old. I think the rounded 'weeble' base has gone missing,
or maybe he's supposed to slot into something . . .

I doubt you would ever see a toddlers toy with metal bells on it like this, nowadays.

Found this delightful Dennis the Menace! This little monster is 13" tall, 2-piece construction (head & body), made of rubber (or very squishy vinyl), and in great condition. 1960, The Hall Syndicate.

^^ Wow, that is in great condition as you say . . . must be rare cuz i've never seen one before.
    He's great.

I used to have quite a few Dennis collections when i was a kid. They were very similar in format to the
'Marmaduke' paperbacks i also enjoyed, if i recall correctly.

Of course, the British 'Dennis the Menace' is a completely different character. According to wikipedia
they were both published independently of each other, both in 1951.

Great find on that Dennis Rei. What a massive piece of toy. It sure looks like it must have been stuck in someone's attic or a store backroom someone (or else it was too creepy for the child owner); it looks almost brand new right out of the shop. Even his clothes are pristine - which isn't very 'menace-y' when you think about it hahaha. :) I guess this is the much older "innocent" incarnation of the troublemaker.

Very cool Asterix Moog. It is such a shame to see him without his partner though. Maybe you will still come actross the Obélix though, you certainly do have the treasure hunting skills for it. :)

^^ hehe, yeah . . . he needs his wild-boar eating friend to keep him company.
Hopefully a slightly dinged-up one will pop-up because the mint condition ones are going for silly money.

Haha, that is a cool squeaker Moog. And fairly large too. Though, I confess when I quickly glance at it from a distance, I could have mistaken it for something else.

Now please forgive me, everyone, for pointing that out.
