I was hoping someone could tell me the best sculpting material to use if I want to modify a figure and build onto it as my base. I see peops seem to use different types of sculpy, but do you use anything special for adhession purposes. I really want to add on to an existing figure so I want to make sure things are gonna stick. Thanks ahead of time for all information. With respect - SHAPE
Yo SS, Check the CUSTOMS threads on the KR Kid Robot forum. It has a lot of good info and tutorial links. It is the best and maybe only good thing on that forum.
i gotta defend that. my friend Rohby does amazing customs. and uses KR shit as a hobby. his real thing is mecha. will see if i can dig up stuff. he rarely posts.
agreed theres alot in the customizing forum on it seems alot of people use super sculpy and theres a few threads on baking it while its on vinyl etc as well as other things
+1. no baking needed, no cracking or shrinking. dries rockhard and you can dremel, sand, drill, paint, whatever.
Milliput. Sounds like it might be like MagicSculpt. It's a two part epoxy-like clay. You have about 3 hours of working time once you mix it. I just used it to patch up a huge dent in our table - worked really well.
Thank you ALL for your information ! It sounds like the Magisculpt is the stuff, but does it work well on the adhesive level. I just want to make sure it is going to be permanent ! Thats really the main thing I want to make sure of. I want to make a head sculpt larger and I don't want it to fall off while i'm working on it or when i'm finished.
just scuff the surface with 600 sand paper or you can even drill tiny holes for the magicsculp to go into as anchors. To be honest, this stuff will pretty much stick to anything.
