yes...was sold at last Pachi festival I believe... what I didnt know before is, that the cloth-parts (damage-style) are GLUED to the figure...way cooler than if they would hang loose on the figure .....just my opinion...
WOW, that's a beauty Jurgen! The "damaged style" stuff can be a little hit-and-miss with me, but I really like this one.
Another great score. I don't know about the whole bloody bandage though. It makes them seem like they lost.
That's a pretty neat custom. I like some of the recent clear figures with light spray. One or two more bandages than I'd like on this one, but all in all, it's a cool figure.
On the same day as Kaiju Comrades: (Image mirrored from One-up's blog.) Which one will you go to??? (Neither, unless you live in Japan.)
I dont collect any of these toys Naoki customized...but they pretty turned out fantastic....though Im not sure if I would buy one but the "instinc toy"-bears are pretty awesome....
as always, when I see the latest work of Naoki I think it is PERFECT now, but he again tops it everytime and gets better and better with his skills/techniques/styles/... a true MASTER !
I think I need to see full pics of these in a lineup to get a better sense of how they work (and how they work together). I have to say Naoki is one of the only guys out there who absolutely refuses to "settle" on any one look or style. Kind of dovetailing on what Jurgen said, you think you've got a sense of what Naoki's work is all about, but juuuust when you hit that mental comfort zone, he comes up with something new and unsettles you. Because of his painting skills, he could sit back and crank out hundreds of "very nice" and "popular" designs, either on his own figures or others'. But he just refuses to do that, and sometimes his experiments are mind blowing, and other times, they leave you wondering what the hell he was thinking. The impressive thing is he lays it all out there and doesn't hold back, so we're all there along for the ride.
Real nice variety of figures at the show. Lots of pics on Yard's flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/7479804@N0 ... 924007823/
That's a nice one. I like a number of the pieces. Naoki really brought out their characters using a ton of different techniques and styles. If I had to pick one favorite, it's the Rainbow solid to clear blend Mika.
Managed to win the lottery for the black Mikazukin. Has anyone else gotten lottery results on the other 10 that went via lottery system?
Wow! Neato pictures! Thanks for sharing Living Dead! Does anyone know if those teeny little Menta guys are for sale, and if so, how to purchase?
Thanks man, didn't think I'd have a chance at that one, it was the only Mika available through the lottery. Yes, PMed you links.
