Pretty amazing show of Cronic off-offs @ OneUp @ Nakano Broadway today. Case pic: A couple of the ones we picked up: More pics on my blog: http://kaijukorner.blogspot.com/2008/11 ... tokyo.html
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp Thanks for th epics Andy, the bottom one on your blog is my fav, but they are all pint sized masterworks of toy painting. Did you get any more photos? What are those strange grey things in the top right that you cant quite see right? I'll have to pop over to one up and see if there is anything about them on the site.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp Sorry I only took pics of the Cronic figures. There are about 15 pics from the show up on my blog. Camo with tattoo stripes? That's the other one we picked up. Each of the four fight figures received the Camo Tattoo treatment. They were all amazing. We rolled in kind of late and were 9th in line, but nearly every person in front of us went right for the Mav's and Zyurai's. (Not surprising, I guess, since there were a number of flippers in the house.) So we were shocked (but happy) that the Camo Bakurasu and Tripasu were still there when our turn came to choose and buy.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp Fuck they're all amazing. I'd be happy to own any of those, well done Andy
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp those are some seriously nice piece great pick up on that camo bak
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp Damn, I'm not a big fan of Cronic... yet... but these look amazing! Were the JUKI protos actually for sale?
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp I think so. 2100 yen each. I think the guy in front of me bought one, but I was kind of preoccupied figuring out which Cronic to buy.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp Front right Zyurai is ridiculously cool! Actually they all kill... not so sure about the new style of brush painting though, think I like the old style striping better. Regardless, an amazing batch of Cronic and it shows that his style is still evolving.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp The new PS style is totally different from his previous ones. The new PSs are a lot more intricate - more striking like ceremonial markings instead of ornamental designs (if that makes any sense). Anyway, I'm glad Naoki keeps trying out new styles. At this point, with a few exceptions, I just don't see a lot of envelope pushing from other companies. That's why I broke the budget and picked up a few of these. Had to be done!
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp back far left tripasu is my favorite, the one with the all yellow head.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp It's interesting to hear what everyone's favorites are. They're really across the board. It was the same at the show. In fact, even before the selling started, a collector friend told me which Tripasu he wanted. He was 8th in line, so 16 figures had sold before his turn came, but he still got it.
Re: Cronic Black Parade Show @ OneUp That's the one I snagged! First pic from Kadomiumtank's sofubi blog here>>> http://pink.ap.teacup.com/kadomiumtank/ So stoked!!
