if it goes that way let me know i'll try to save the cougars.... young boys need cougars to take there innocence and make them into the guys that wear those affliction t-shirts... ok come to think of it nevermind burn it all down then hit the churches next...
I'm not a big Mayhem fan. I know, blasphemy, right? But if they were coming closer to me, I'd definitely go. Pretty sure the closest show will be in Orlando. Thanks for the heads up, nefasth -- Have you heard the Aelter stuff?
Exactly how it is and went down for me Maybe a decent BM band will come to town eventually. Fingers crossed for Craft!
It's not something I sit around and listen to on the regular but I'm going for more of the show and people watching. Only other BM band that has came through my area(KY) is wolves in the throne room.
Hhhooooo boy. I was just about to bump this thread. The new Leviathan is really good. Wrest's work really benefits from cleaned up production. I've listened to it about five times through today.
I ordered this recently - it's still in the mail but I really can't wait to get this ! They used to be called Korova, one of my favorite BM project.
I couldn't agree more. I absolutely love this release. Arguably my favorite of his now. "Blood red and True" just fucking kills, I could listen to it a thousand times in a row.
Wow didn't know this was worth so much http://www.ebay.com/itm/320805741843?ss ... 1423.l2649 i'm thinking of putting mine up.
/\ Tapping unto NNN demographics ! -------------------------------------- They had Vegan Black Metal Chef on Nadia G.'s christmas special, pretty cool, look at +/- 1.45 min. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_nmL_hGZyE -------------------------------------- Can you guess what I used here \/
reporting back in.. the mayhem show was good but Attila(the singer) rubbed a fake skull all over himself like it was on ecstasy or something. the music was good but man he was killing me. so silly.
They're certainly not pure black metal (a lot of the stuff I post in here isn't, really), but there are hints of it on Tombs' most recent album. It's all over the place stylistically, but even with that being said, I think most metal fans would really enjoy it. And not that anyone else's opinion matters when it comes to music, but it's received Decibel magazine's album of the year.
Tombs are great. I saw them with isis a few years ago. Plus, if Thomas hooper does the album artwork, you are pretty guaranteed good music.
Vegan Black Metal Chef rules! I forgot about that guy. He has a youtube show. also, I've somehow never seen this thread, most likely bc it had a 4 yr hiatus & I haven't been around much but... A: Can we petition to get blashyrkh(drunken master rick) back. his posts were very informative, i'm listening to some of that stuff now that I'd never heard of & it's great. I remember him having the peter beste photos for sale at drunken master before I had any idea who peter beste was. B: I think i've read through the whole thread but was there no mention of wolves in the throne room? I know they're pretty hip but they've never disappointed & people were talking about the lack of bands expanding on the BM sound n wot
Patrick -- That rules. I'll always regret passing up going to Orlando to see ISIS on the last tour. Been listening to them and Rosetta a lot lately, incidentally. You need to check out the new Tombs if you haven't yet! WitTR have been mentioned a few times. I have always really liked them, but their newest album pales in comparison to their other output, in my opinion. However, seeing them last summer in a ridiculously hot auto body shop with Megaton Leviathan was one of my favorite shows ever. All of my clothes were literally drenched with sweat. Some dude gave me a beer for wearing a Have a Nice Life shirt. It was like a sweat lodge retreat for bm bros, or something. A really cool experience overall.
Yeah I'm pretty bummed about missing the last tour as well. When I missed their last Boston show, I thought "Well, I could always head up to Montreal for their final show." and then of course ended up working and going home for husband/dad duty. Haha. Rosetta pops up on the itunes playlist pretty often. They are another band that I regret not seeing when I had the chance. They played a show in Boston with Engineer back in the summer of '08 which ended up being held in some kid's basement. I'll definitely grab the new Tombs album. It has been on my radar for a while now. We all miss ISIS Mikee. We all do...
speaking of american black metal. check out my buddys black metal band. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUuA4VAFrQg
Lightning Swords of Death!!! I met the singer once on the metro rail in LA . He has a bunch of ultra man & kaiju tattoos.
Can you guess what I used here \/ A) A camera More specifically? B) Emperor "In the Nightside Eclipse"
