    Hey y'all..

I'd like to pose a question and I'm being completely serious..

Why do Be@rbricks get a "pass" and are allowed to be talked about on this site while D***ys do not? Aren't they both platform toys? Is it because Be@rbricks are made by Medicom?

I've always been curious about this and not that I'm looking to talk about D***ys on here, I would just like some clarification..

    Let the crucifixion begin!!

Why even ask? Does there need to be more than one forum to discuss rabbit toys?

Also while the culture of that other board started out with people forming connections and looking out for each other, it pretty much ended up being a toilet.

    Be@rbricks were released in 2001.
    D***ys were released in 2004.

A 3 year difference, is that really that big of a deal?

D***ys have had featured artists like Shepard Farey, Damon Soule and Ron English.. I don't think your case is closed that easily..

Because I'm curious. Is that not a good enough reason?

    2. There are reasons we don’t talk about certain subjects, and there are other places to yap about that stuff. Head there for that kind of talk, don’t try and bring it here.

Like I said, I'm not trying to bring it here, I get that. You've also made it perfectly clear. I just would like to know the reason. Is that ok with you? Let me guess, it's not..

I guess I just see the reasons as extremely obvious and feel it's an inane post.

Look, I'm just trying to have a civilized discussion. I didn't mean to get sarcastic but I'm not going to sit here and take shit from anyone either.

I would just like to know the reason. Is it the sculpt? Is it the choice of artists? Is it because Paul Budnitz visited Japan and got the idea directly from Japanese toys, most likely Be@rbricks? Is it because they're not cool and edgy or scary looking? Is it because they're not super rare? Is it a quality issue?

I don't think my question is unreasonable. If I'm in the wrong for asking, please forgive me.

If you see the reasons as extremely obvious, then please elaborate, because they are not obvious to me at all and never have been in the 5 years I've been a member here.

Feel free to PM me as well, if you'd rather explain that way..

@noeleaser It's been discussed before & you basically answered your own question. Du**ies are Western and have had their own board since forever, from what I understand Skullbrain came into existence because people needed a place to discuss more obscure, mostly Japanese toys and unknown artists like Pushead (purple because Australians). I don't think there's anything more esoteric to it.

    Now Q**s, that's another can o'worms...

That's what I started collecting back about 15 years back. They still have a special place in my heart..

Do yourself a favor and read some more threads in their entirety before posting such questions - then you would have the answer + a ton of other knowledge.

But with the search function, I don't get customized sarcasm produced specifically for me! See how many personalized snide remarks I get instead of people answering in a civilized manner like a decent human being? It's awesome and great for keeping the toy community together!

In addition, you can't search for that word on here, it's banned.. ;)

Since youve been here long enough, im not sure what you would have expected from a word that is censored. Your not stupid, but asking stupid questions will probably get you stupid answers.

    Question 1. What is art?
Question 2. So if an artist you like makes some great sofubi pieces and then goes and makes a *unny, are they no good anymore for that one reason?
Question 3. Who gives a fuck what other collectors collect? If they collect other stuff than you, than great right? More chance for you to get stuff you want since one less person is interested.
Question 4. Were all of you truly, honestly just born with kaiju sofubi encyclopedias built in, or do we all srart at different places in collecting and learn as we go? I think a lot of you old headz forget this.

I get this is a kaiju/sofubi Japanese centered site, but do we really all need to freak out when someone mentions something YOU dont like. I GUARANTEE a lot of you have at least had a *unny or "western platform" toy in your time. I don't really do duns anymore but that's sure where i started and i am not ashamed of it because without those i wouldn't have found my way to my true passion, kaiju/sofubi. So lets all just settle down. Our country has enough division, we don't need or amazing community divided too over who likes what. Feel free to yell at me if you want.

You are nothing but a troll and i couldn't give a fuck what you have to say. I asked questions, answer those. That's what i want to hear. Not your dumb ass.

Also i never said i prefer either over the other. I dont collect either at the moment, but when it really comes down to it, truly, they are both platform toys designed by different artists. Just because one or two artists did a Be@rbrick and not a *unny doesn't really make the shit different.

I think this summarizes the problem nicely. Both of you are trying to force a dialogue that the majority of the board isn't interested in having and rather then respect the culture of the board, the both of you feel you are somehow owed answers and any post to the contrary is somehow people being assholes.

Aren't the two of you friends? Smoke your devil's lettuce and discuss it all you want.
