anyone have a good source for more info on these? i have two and i'm not sure why. not even sure what parts belong with which because everything seems mismatched legs are obviously different arms match on one on left, but are different on one on right heads seem the same but face paint slightly differs. maybe just rubbed off?
I think a good place to start would be TBDX. They have a nice compilation article on the line. You will find there are some differences between the Japanese and American versions, but what I think is happening there is that, with the interchangeability/connectability of the figures you ended up with a Frankenstein hybrid of parts from a few sets. The larger arms are the correct ones for the 'Kong', as are the bulky legs - the green ones are Baltan arms, and the short one is a leg (the other appears to be backwards). Still, having one of these is pretty damn nice, so two, even a mismatch, is stellar. I'd count myself very lucky.
it's a good look, almost super deformed proportions. kirkland can probably tell you more if he's still around. edit: i can't read
Yeah ..to have an ark kong with box and plane is super cool ! The smaller one is as said a Frankenstein but pretty cool he has a leg for an arm and I think a kong forearm and something from another ark toy for the other arm and yeah, baltan arm tops. The chest knives should pop out when a button on the back is pressed, 2 missiles in the waist and the plane slots in there too. There were 6 or so of them and they were made to be taken apart and reconfigured. here is my kong and baltan for your reference..(interestingly mine has no gold face paint)
I have kong in box (usa) an baltan loose, chogokin to a higher levels! bullmark Godzilla too is very thrilling
