I know many of us are going stir-crazy but no, this is not an audition for my next sofubi production, centred on fruit themed vinyl and recreating the boy-wizard Potter!

However, if you know your way around the magical world of iTunes and Apple, I appreciate you waving your digital wand over this thread.

Up until Lockdown-2020, I used to run two separate Apple accounts - one for work (iPhone) and one for home (iPad).

In the last few years I have made it so that the work account shares digital downloads (and vice versa) with the home account via 'Family sharing' (or whatever Apple call it).

I still buy as much as possible on CD and therefore, I do rip the CD to my work PC (where I synch my phone) and then rip the same ones to home (to go onto my iPad and Sonus system).

As I am currently banned from the work office, I am unable to load new CDs onto my iPhone and this got me thinking as to why I still run a work and private Apple account. It would make sense to move my home PC over to the work account BUT this is where I need help.

Even though I have shared downloads between the accounts, if I sign-out of my 'home' account and log into my 'work' one on the home PC, will I loose the iTunes music folder?

My assumption is that the physical iTunes folder on the PC will remain and I still should be able to access the digital downloads of the shared account (the home one) from the home PC, even when logged in on my work account, but I wanted to see if I am missing something?

I've bought a couple of physical CDs and would like to add them but can wait if I am going to end up with zero music or a mess on the phone.

No idea as to the whys-and-where for of what you are asking . . . but just back up the physical iTunes folder before trying anything!

Done that - and do on a regular basis - my primary concern is the phone throwing a fit, which would mean a trip to the office to resolve. This wouldn't be insurmountable but given the current situation, I'd rather avoid it.
