I love those Creator building sets. I wish I had space for them...but at the same time I'm glad I don't cause i'd be buying them all.

@Headhunter here's the rex all built. This one got on my nerves quite a bit, not to mention it was missing a bunch of pieces. I took a picture of it next to a Lego mini fig for size comparison.

Looking good! Weird that there were missing pieces - I've found that nanoblock sets typically have a -lot- of "bonus" parts. Companies are typically very good at sending missing parts though (Lego has even automated the system now!), you could always ask.

I know! I have four that are built in the basement (well, "were" built would be more accurate given that the kids love them and they're now in various states of destruction) but I have two that are sitting in boxes (waiting for aforementioned kids to grow up + us to move in a larger house). They fit snuggly in Detolfs, if I'm not mistaken... though they make take two levels.

I was surprised too, because they tend to come with a bunch of extra parts. It's just missing some bones on the tail, which doesn't really bother me enough to contact them about it, but thanks for the advice. Now to make sure it stays in one piece, it's super flimsy lol.

Yes. Bought the same series. I also LOVED the fact that the aspect ratio was pretty even so the odds were great. Not sure why Red Hood looks smaller than others but it's the same size.

Picked this up last weekend and it took me about 8 hours to put it together. Just gotta add the finishing touches to it tonight after work and it'll be done! These Lego modular building sets are way too much fun. Definitely going back this weekend to get another set to put next to this one!

Okay, I am a Star Wars nut. And I love LEGO. But this is just, I dunno, I am torn whether to hate it or love it. One thing I will say though, is that in releasing this set LEGO has most certainly crossed a few lines. One of those, on the 'good side,' is officially making this the largest LEGO release set ever done, at a whopping 7,541 pieces! Now, on the more obvious 'bad' side, this new Falcon is - while clearly part of the Ultimate Collector Series, and aimed squarely at the hardcorest of adults (with deep pockets, c'mon, 800 smackers?! yikes) is just crossing that territory in the overly-detailed hyper-accurate space of models. I mean, yes I love the attention to uncountable screen-accurate minutiae, and you certainly can't fault the dedication this took for the development team, and sure, it is still 'buildable' out of small brick pieces, which would offer some degree of standard interconnectivity, but for a line ostensibly (if more in name now) aimed at small children, this same extreme level and über-detailing also moves far away from the whole blocky interpretation and nature, together with the imaginative builds which is the soul of the LEGO concept (to me) and makes it such an enduring legacy and love [for people of all ages]. Anyway, I am not really throwing this out there as criticism, as I do think this is pretty darn fantastic, and would be a joy to check out - although I think anyone would reasonably have to concede this is a display piece. Just sort of offering a caveat of logical counterbalance to the coolness that this new set offers. But anyhow, on to the toy, that's all we care about here anyways, right?

    sneak peek pics:

a summarising video on the set:

Coming in for the 40 anniversary of Star Wars, and the 10th anniversary of the first collector Falcon set, this is a very welcome and smart move by LEGO. Those who want it/these sorts of things - and can afford it of course - are going to really want it. It offers a considerable improvement over the first set, which itself was already so incredible, and the effort put into bringing this together, including the design of probably what is a staggering amount of new unique LEGO pieces for it (see above) is no doubt full justification for the high price tag. I suggest anyone keen really watch the above video for some of the fantastic details this new version offers. As I said, this is basically display only, almost store/museum quality piece, so in that respect, you are getting what you pay for. But, by the same token, it is at such a different level that is almost is by-passing it being labelled as a regular retail offering in my mind, which it is. I feel like in any listing of produced LEGO sets this would have an asterisk next to its name. But, bottom line is, it is gorgeous and incredible. The massive box for it alone is sort of staggering (apparently so large they actually developed a particular carrier just for customers to bring this out of the LEGO stores!). I now want a Death Star with this level of detail.

Okay LEGO, now that I've touted just how great this set is, I believe you have my home address on file.

    More info.

I don't believe any of the UCS models are for "play" purposes. They're in general incredibly large and much too heavy for children to play with, with a few exceptions like the Hoth, Ewok village or Death Star(s). But then again, you're not expected to actually carry those models around. My DS was on one of those circular, rotating IKEA boards where the kids played with it (till it progressively reached an unbearable point of "customization"/destruction and I binned it - as in plastic bin, not trash bin).

I for one am happy with this version of the MF because, while crazily, small-car-level expensive, it is actually a re-release of an older model which went for much, much more than that on eBay et al. Plus, if you regret you purchase down the line, you're pretty much guaranteed to be able to sell it. It sucks that it won't fit in most display cases, but neither did some of the larger "regular" models (Star Destroyers etc.).

Idk, I forget how I even know  but it's been confirmed on multiple websites: SDCC first, then VIP access, then wider release
