While out driving recently I noticed this place tucked away in a small local town and had to go back and have a look! A long time collector set up his own museum - he's got a great collection of mainly Doctor Who, along with some Star Wars, Gerry Anderson and Red Dwarf - original props, puppets, costumes, toys all set up in the cellar of what looked like an old pub with a shop upstairs... Here's the full set of photos for anyone who wants to see - http://www.flickr.com/photos/fun9us/sets/72157626916156988/ http://www.timemachineuk.com/
I might have to go for a drive over there soon, looks great! Thanks for posting about it, i had no idea it even existed.
That's some great stuff! It's nice that they let you take pictures. I've been a casual fan of Dr. Who since the 80's. I liked the nice selection of Cybermen costumes. They were always my favorite villains. Also that Ood mask looks way more disgusting up close than it does in the shows. Thanks for sharing your pix!
Yeah worth a visit and not too far from Brum. Apparently it's been there for years, I must have driven past it a few times going to see friends out that way! I much prefer the older classic Tom Baker stuff that I grew up with to the newer Doctors and it was great to see the original monsters 'in person' that scared me as a kid Great comic relief clip Bert
Those Thunderbirds shows always gave me the creeps when I was a kid...but I watched them anyway cause they were pretty awesome.
Thanks for posting this. It's just the kind of small-town independent thing I love. I'll have to check it out the next time I am in the UK.
Awesome post it's nice to know places like this still exist and what I would give for a cyber man costume!
That's fantastic, what a great find! Dr. Who is a wonderful example of a purely British phenomena that has become very popular here in the USA. I've been a real fan for the last few years. I remember watching segments of the early 1960's episodes, the show has come a very long way since 1963. Thanks for posting this.
