^Kingboy, with the discrepancies elucidated above there is some cause for concern, but I would chalk it up to a typo on the blog rather than a significant actual reduction of the sculpt. From what we know Anraku is still pretty hands-on when it comes to his involvement. I think it would be an affront to the spirit of the original and not likely he would allow Medicom to shrink the toy down to 11 inches. Just my 2 cents. I could see Anraku designing an entirely different sculpt for a smaller beast before allowing Medicom to just shrink the original. But I could be totally wrong on this one. I frequently am.
It does strike me as odd that the price point would be about the same as the solid Medicom Gogas, given that the original giants were so much larger than the Gogas. We'll see, I guess. I'm in either way.
I received 'em. Enjoying them- Ketos (the green one) is actually the stunner in hand. The ghost whale is very nice but mine had a little bit of sloppy masking on the sides. The Ketos paint job is pretty gorgeous and the head works better with the body. Header card art for both releases is top notch.
With the same body, he managed to do 2 very different monsters. Keitos feels like more of an earth-bound creature, sturdy with an aggressive look and Tiamat looks more celestial and cunning. I love the paint on both, and especially Keitos. The green shades are gorgeous. Some time have been put into the headers too, they are just great and add flavour to the toys. Another brilliant job on these.
Great work Bryce! Nice to the whole Medicom lot to date in one place! Edit: are you going to include the upcoming releases?: EDIT 2: LMAO at the same time no less we edited our posts!
haha. Trying to find them at the right size. It's incredible to see these releases. I have a few and they've been amazing.
I have all the minis and large Dako but that's it. Kind of regret not getting the clear goga and regular sized glutamine. Might seriously regret not getting that Mamaregon even more. If the colors of him and the Cambodia were reversed and he was purple it would be a no brainer. Still might have to get crafty with the finances via a sale between now and June 1st.
If these releases are any indication, Drunk Boy should be coming soon... Or perhaps something new altogether! So cool seeing all the releases so far. Definitely regretting not going for the pink GID guts Goga.
It's always interesting to me to see variation of tastes. Personally, I really dislike the purple. I am glad the Mamaregon is the red one! And I love its horns - just something very reminiscent of a movie demon or witch (but I can't put my finger on which movie I am thinking of).
I've been kicking myself for not getting in on the Nue, Glutamine, and clear Goga orders when they were available. Those are some toys that I slept on bigtime and will definitely need to find in the future.
I would love to see more of the minis--especially the baby goga and beetle. And perhaps an Amijaruksu? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrj_SMaDpNs
I'd definitely be interested in seeing Amijaruksu in 3D. Not sure if I'd end up liking the result though. Looks like the Cambodia, Oxidant, and Nue are delayed till mid to late May. Womp womp.
A little off-topic but how the bloody hell did I miss this? I have no idea what is happening But those wiggly arms, I can't deal with this
I can't seem to find his blog through Google search, mind linking it for me? Oh my, Japanese commercials... So wonderfully bizarre. Thanks for sharing that, haha.
quote: Bonus: customers who purchase both Mamaregon and Giant Cambodia will receive their head parts in molding color (uncolored). ? Extra pair of heads?
Yes, extra pair of unpainted heads. This was also done with the tanuki, tiamat and I think the nue/Cambodia. Might be wrong on that last one.
