http://www.guardian.co.uk/artanddesign/video/2012/aug/23/art-restorer-ecco-homo-mural-video This made my day even better.
I love this, theres a transformation video they keep playing on the news over here which tickles me, both before and after pictures are incredible for very different reasons.
Wow, pretty prolific. First I knew of her was that video- I had no idea she was an artist of such reknown.
Read up on this a couple of days ago. As funny as it is, the poor woman only had the best of intentions. Probably feels really horrible about the whole thing.
This makes me feel much better about the time/s I have tried to fix something only to make it much worse. At least my personal screw ups haven't ended up on the internet (yet)! Feel sorry for her but man did I need that laugh!!!! Reminds me of the Mr. Bean movie. Great supporting photo-shopped photos! -GS
C'mon she did have great intentions BUT before she started the painting she should could have purchased canvas or paper for a trail run. The results are hilarious. It's just so bad.
I watched the video of her being interviewed. She is definitely not feeling bad about what she did; she has a sort of defiant tone when speaking about it. She was also described as an "amateur art restorer". Amateur! Not even close. I don't feel bad for this loon at all. She deserves all the ridicule that she's getting. I do, however, feel bad for Martinez' granddaughter.
At least we have the before shots. To think, centuries from now, they'll be trying to restore THAT restoration.
seems like from the video they are going to have people coming in to try and fix it now. standing by for updates..
Hahahah, just when you thought it would not get any worse (or comical). Woman who botched Spanish fresco of Jesus wants royalties
no kidding. the church should respond by saying "ok, we'll pay you royalties right after we sue you for the damage". some people are just incredible.
