I was randomly hit up Monday afternoon by a fellow collector via Instagram, and offered this Serpentoid. Long story short, he decided to thin down his collection, and in doing so, also decided, by his own reasons, to gift this to me. I was pretty taken aback, but graciously and VERY appreciatively accepted. This was one of my biggest bummers to have missed out on from Five Points, adding in the extremely kind gesture, so it means a lot to me to have this. Can’t really say I’ve done anything to warrant such a positive act towards me, but I am lookin’ forward to the opportunity to put that energy back out in some form or fashion. Spoiler
Thanks so much, @michael! Your artistry translated to toys is immaculate, so I’m just tryin’ to keep up. Couldn’t be happier with the ones I’ve amassed thus far!
Michael had some mini Draculobster one offs that he was selling out of his backpack at Dcon. So, on preview night my first order of business was to track him down. I was able to grab two of them, and even though I know have twenty of these lil buggers, these two were just as special as the first ones I ever received! Since we stayed in California for several extra days we didn't get home until late Thanksgiving evening. When we arrived home our home was still decorated for the soon to be passed holiday. Anyways feeling very overjoyed from both our amazing trip to Dcon, as well as overjoyed to be back home in Baltimore City this pic was right in the feels for me.
At this point I think this thread should just be called “Skattum Made Monsters”, and have Hell Frog merged! Draculazer’s been a busy vampire between resin, new, smaller figures, and a brand new design for Chompton. Resin Overlord of the Mutated Realms. This would be a great figure to see in soft vinyl. A Halloween version with a cape and pitchfork would be amazing. Demon Robot: designed by Draculazer for Chompton, sculpted by KTO KTO.
Just preordered a 'rich yellow' blank Demon Robot earlier this week. I like how boxy chunky (or should that be chunky boxy?) it is. Goes really well with the detailed yet clean Skattum/Draculazer aesthetic, IMO
The shape and details and face, and even the colors of the posted one offs, makes me think very much of Adventure Time. Like I’d see a Demon Robot waging battle against Jake and Finn. And for me, that’s a major, major positive!
Thanks for the update Robert! As well as the kind words from you and others. I’ve been trying to keep busy this year- I currently have the overlord figure being finished up in Mexico right now- my dream of having a bootleg-ish gigantic toy is coming true. I should be able to have the 13” toy be priced around 100$ (or less!) the Chompton figure was a fun design and awesome in hand as well- I had a blast making a weird, organic robot type thing I’ve got a lot up my sleeve for 2021- I’ll try to be more diligent with updating here as well
I got a handful of giant devils from mexico- Here are the first two iterations of the Overlord of the Mutilated realms- about 13" of vinyl chaos from mexico. the toys feel like a mix between japanese soft vinyl and a squeaker- theres lots of give if its warm. i also love the matte finish on these- its a nice play with the gloss paint. I sold a ton of blanks in red before my paint shipment showed up, so ill be doing a very small painted red release soon. the blue painted one is just a test paint- i dont have any blue toys laying around now !
I have some of that Mexican vinyl and it's pretty fun Great job on these, @michael ! I was holding off on a blank in the hopes to get a painted release and you knocked it out!
