Welcome! I'm a huge horror/sci-fi fan myself! Great artists you listed. I love Maxtoy, and Paul Kaiju as well! It's nice to see someone else on here who appreciates the work of Wonder Goblin. Very few posts mentioning his name. I feel like we should change that! James is a really nice guy, and works crazy hard to spread toys to the world. Based on your interests maybe check out the offerings of Karzworks. Another artist I feel doesn't get enough love on this board. His latest vinyl is something I've wanted since I was a child:
Thank you!!! Horror and sci-fi are indeed the best. Creatures, monsters, kaijus, yoki, and the like are endlessly fascinating (I realize that statement was redundant). I find it interesting how different cultures from around the world have converged on certain ideas of "monsters" throughout history and how each generation then modernizes and revives monsters as they are needed. Wondergoblin is so awesome and I totally see what you are saying, I haven't detected too many forums with his name mentioned. James is a true creative and I would defiantly enjoy seeing him get more recognition. Great suggestion! I have seen some Karzworks pieces and they are totally in my wheelhouse and that Seymore looks too good. I'll have to do some research, it looks like they can fetch a hefty price on the secondary market.
james is an excellent artist and person. if you feel its lackin some goblin you better start postin! i think youll find the trends of SB soon enough. as in, what gets more traction here. i always think of james' work doing better on ig than on here
Hello, Starting here with my 1st post. I've been collecting for a number of years. I was primarily collecting resin figures and slowly started building up a sofubi collection which quickly got out of hand. Shocker I know. I like a wide variety of figures but my current obsession is butanohana and vintage. I've been reading and lurking for quite some time and feel like I know just a little enough to contribute to some posts and threads. Radin
Hi, I'm Brett! Likewise to others I started collecting back in KR's heyday and now mostly collect larger vinyl pieces and Sofubi. Big fan of Sunguts, Headlock and Science Patrol, to name a few!
Welcome @Radin and @l3rett ! I am sure you guys will find loads to enjoy on the board. Dig in, and try not to get overwhelmed.
Hello everyone. My name is Ian. I’m from Taiwan, a huge Dehara fan and some other Japanese designers Also looking for Dehara’s Tosakentas. They are just so adorable please let me know if you had it Thanks for letting me join here, nice to meet you guys
Hi all Big thanks to @TiredChildren for sorting out my long dormant account. I am based in the UK. Started collecting a long time ago with early BxH, Michael Lau, Eric So, Medicom Toy etc. Now mainly collecting BxH kuns when I can + a few other artists - Taku Obata, Hanai Yusuke and a few Medicom things.
Hi everyone! I live in Baltimore and have been collecting and lurking here for a while. My love and enjoyment of sofubi has only increased over time. I like a large variety of toys including diemouse, Kaiju tan, cojica, and real head. I look forward to learning more and possibly getting into trading! Hmu if you’re local!
Hello, everyone! My name is Ji, and I am from mainland China. After lurking for one year, I am so happy that I could formally be part of the community! I have been collecting kaiju sofubi for nearly two years, not long enough I know, but I have spent a lot of time studying the culture and history of sofubi. My favorite brand is Bullmark, and I tried my best to get some original ones. I also really like retro-style sofubi of some contemporary brands, like Zollmen, whose pachi kaiju and robots are very fascinating. Happy to meet all you guys here, wish I could make my own contribution to this fabulous forum in the future.
Thank you dude! SB is Heaven for me, and I don't really like IG, but I contact James(big thanks to him) via IG to activate my account and finally get here , what an irony! haha.
@Kirara Nice to see you here, Ji. We really look forward to seeing those Bullmark toys you've collected so far, especially if you are working your way into the vintage realm as well. Always so much more to discover. Best of luck, and welcome to SB.
@Kirara - Welcome to the forums. Your avatar photo of Ali from Cairo really jogged my memory back about 25 years ago. I actually had the rare Ali card and traded it for an Unlimited Black Lotus through the mail. The Lotus arrived unprotected but undamaged in a small white paper envelope, haha. Those were the days...
Thank you all you guys! @deafmetal Wow, didn't expect I can meet a MTG collector here. Ali trading for Lotus, really cool! This reminds me of the old city legends that some one traded his Lotus for a Shivan Dragon, haha! I've also played that game for more than twenty years, and have some collections like a complete set of Arabian Nights, antiquities etc. Even though I have to be away from the game now for lack of time, I will not sell my collections for new toys, I just cherish what I own, and miss my good old days.
Hi all, first time poster, long time lurker. I live in on the Wales/England border (ogof is welsh for cave) and look forward to contributing to the forum. Since picking up some Bullmarks a few years back I’ve been interested in all things kaiju. I’m not really a vintage guy but absolutely love a bit of B-Club, M1GO etc. I’m also a sucker for all things unpainted, with Big One Craft being another fave Whilst I am active on social media, I much prefer the format of internet forums and messageboards. This place and many others are a treasure trove of information and I look forward to posting
Welcome @Ogof ! Great to have you here. While I might be 'barely' Welsh only by association, it is wonderful to see you on here as another local. There are a few of us UK-based Skullbrainers, albeit we are by and large an anti-social bunch. Trying to change that little by little, but hey, that's what internet forums are for. We're all toy misfits at heart. You may not be into vintage now, but I do say if you are collecting B-Club and M1 toys, you are a mere cam away from the OGs, so we'll be waiting for you on the other side. Haha. Happy to see you post, and hopefully you find a few threads on here which tickle your fancy. Always at least a few for sharing those toys you mentioned, if nowt else.
@Ogof @Kirara welcome! Good to have some new people into the classics. I look forward to seeing your posts.
