Oh man that 2nd one looks like a total stoner reimagined the DX as a MOTU action figure. Just look at the ribs and the skull placements.

    aight; im goin in!
why does the torso on the two-head look like it was sculpted and then stretched to fit? why do the crotch and butt crack skulls have a way different level of detail? are these focal points? why are the ribs just elephant trunks kissing? this thing is 10" tall, how wide does that make it and why?

Jumping in right behind you! CANNONBALL!!!! There is no way this was sculpted by hand. For exactly these reasons. Those tiny skulls have soooo much detail! I’d love to believe I’m wrong and these are the sculpting skills of an up and coming master, but, ummm... does everybody remember(was it last year?) when that AI was taking people pics of soft vinyl and rendering weird ass toys out of the average? This is like they ran ONLY pictures of DXs through the program and this is what came out. And the Violence Toy rip-off? Fuck. I love the dudes at Violence toy. They fucking rule. So I’m pissy about that aspect from the jump. But I was standing in line to GET weed when I saw the post yesterday, and my initial reaction to the weed leaf was “guh...”

    It’s a shame.

ive been making my living off of art for 14years this past april. and my biggest gripe is the idea that you can get by just being a lesser version, a store brand version, of an established artist. i have always loved when toy makers do colorways or sculpt sizes that fit well with other toys. wether its their own catalog or just general toy displays. and that to me is the hardest part of designing. sculpting takes practice, painting takes practice and a lil color knowledge but either dont compare to designing something fresh and not so derivative of current popular works

    1/2 part DX

1 part two headed Doji with a splash of Leviathan mouth

    1 part Flying Freak

Add a squirt of Uncle Steve

    And Garnish with Cadaver Kid

And you have the cocktail for Deathland Toy. But please keep paying 250 bucks for this derivative crap.

@JoeMan That last one looks like Cadaver Kid crash landed into Tkom Gamaotoko. Third image, head on the left loosely looks like Sam Heinous, too. I also get some Uzumark vibes here. Dude’s obviously a talented sculptor, but you have to have some type of insecurity in your ideas/designs to just rip other people’s shit.

This is getting ridiculous, they’re all copies. Not a single original idea among them. I wish people would start calling them out on IG. :?

I don’t think people care and the reality is the comparison probably just makes them even more popular. I think I’ve seen Rich post on Chokehazards pictures about the similarities he poached, and look how that has turned out. He’s become arguably the most popular western artist in the Asian region.

The fugly toy thread is turning into the stolen design thread! Fun stuff.

And if your 2nd toy release requires you to make this kind of post, you're gonna have a bad day

It's no surprise that these makers live in a fairy land where they can copy whatever and whoever they want and all they need to do is say "no you're mistaken this is my original design" and people accept it... you don't get away with decades of IP theft without learning a few tricks of the copycat trade aayyy boys. Fuck all of these cunts for largely ruining my enjoyment in this scene.

Nokaidan. He put out this $600 toy/board game a few months ago

Seymour did these back in 2016

This was Nokaidan's 2nd toy and suffice it to say Peter ripped him a new asshole

The presentation looked top notch and I even really dug the advertising and the toy itself, but this turned me way off and reminded me too much of Kaiju Tan's shitty behavior (pulling vinyl from China while carving "Made in Japan")

I honestly chuckle whenever I see that stupid utsugio knock off in anyone’s collection. The fact they spent like 500 bucks on a blatant low quality rip off. That is all you can do.

I feel like the ridiculous price points out the gate are from overzealous and overly eager collectors that pay the price right away, and it suddenly validates these rip off artists to make that their standard. That, in turn, makes it look okay to other rip off artists.

Considered an 'official release'. I'm sure anyone who reads this thread is sick of me banging on about over-the-top customs. I'm on the fence about this one to be honest, but i'm interested to see what other people think ... i kinda like it, whilst simultaneously thinking its a bit crap ...

Not loving any of the yellow or pink. The cloud effect is neat, but in my old age I find myself preferring traditional sprays over “gimmick” sprays... with the exception of @Paulkaiju tricks and magic.
