I got 400 bucks wrapped up in one package in France. It’s been about a 32 days... keeps saying “they added 15 days of confinement”... I bought of that person before so I sent F&F. Guess we’ll see how this plays out lol. Think he would block me if he was gonna screw me. (I don’t think that’s happening, just figured I post something that’s happening to me) oh well...
My theory is the "confinement" mentioned may be related to a request by certain countries to keep hold of packages for a period so they can "decontaminate" or something. Packages are departing Japan for Canada within a few days, while we are seeing 2-3 weeks of delays with packages going to the US. Just a theory. Of course if sent DHL or something, it probably goes around such delay requests, if they exist at all. Could also just be cargo planes are limited just as passenger planes are, and most Japan Post mail is at the back of the line behind commercial goods. Who knows.
That's a bit strange... I mean from most reputable accounts (besides what the CCP say) they're still dealing with the virus. And even if it was miraculously wiped out in China, there are still heavy delays along the chain with the USPS etc. Wonder what the deal is there... Maybe they have hired more staff to deal with all of the incoming mail. What with all of the bulk shipments of 'muled' medical supplies/cleaning supplies coming in from every other country in the world...
Here’s a little update, in a sense. I placed 3 orders over the course of March, all shipped SAL. Japan post lists all 3 as return to sender as of April 16-17. One of them updated today as “Processing at delivery Post Office” and “final delivery” to the sender. So keep an eye on the tracking numbers, they will update (presumably) when they end up back in Mandarake’s (or who shipped it) hands. Now, I’m curious wether the post office refunded the shipping or not on all these orders, or is that money just gone? I’ll update my situation as it moves along. Hopefully I will hear from the Mandarake store soon.
@hellopike For one of the SAL parcels that was returned to Mandarake, they e-mailed me and asked me to select an alternate shipping method. I only paid the difference for EMS, DHL or whatever.
That’s good to know @akum6n thanks. This whole thing is giving me flashback to ordering G.I. joes with “flag points” and then having to wait 6-8 weeks for delivery. Hah
It is VERY strange. My customers there are feeling they are getting the shipping they are actually paying for, which is really expensive compared to what they pay to ship to us. Figures we got shanked thanks to the Inhuman Terracotta shitloaf who can't even get tests in order. We are going to be one solid 3rd world under "God" after this.
6-8 week? Try living overseas, I think it was multiple years (or sure as felt like it as a kid). Those were the days though.
https://www.post.japanpost.jp/int/information/2020/0423_03.html EMS is being halted to the US.. “Therefore, from April 24 (Friday) onwards, we will temporarily stop accepting the following international mail items * addressed to the United States”
my guess is, they are just kinda at capacity right now... and without enough planes flying to the US, they can only hold so much mail in their facilities. so basically anything they have, or anything mailed before friday, that’s still going out (albeit slowly). and seems like they are holding accepting anymore new mail, unti the backlog gets all cleared out.
Yeah I got a letter too....well, shit. Made the order on the 10th I believe. Guess all you can do is just sit it out and wait. Just give it some time.
I have four orders in the hopper from Mandarake right now that all show they have shipped. The three that were being shipped SAL aren't showing up on the USPS site. They are obviously lingering in a postal store somewhere in Japan. They were placed about a month ago, give or take. So I may never see those... lol The fourth, which was shipped yesterday will be here Monday via DHL. This happened with another DHL parcel a couple weeks back as well. I never chose DHL in the past bc I always thought it would be much more expensive and I'm not in a rush rush to get the stuff. But had I known that DHL is NOT that much more at all and the fact it gets here super fast (or I'm just super lucky) I would have chosen them before as an option. Both of these orders originated from the Grandchaos location btw.
Just had a DHL from amazon Japan...from there to here in NJ took 2 days. FedEx was also very fast from Osaka last week.
I have 3 orders made on March 28th, 2 by EMS, and 1 by SAL I just received one package by EMS today, and the other one still hasn’t moved since April 1st. The SAL package, was returned to the store last week, and Mandarake emailed me yesterday if I still want it, they will ship it out by DHL ( they said they would cover the difference ), or if I wanted a refund.
One big box of blanks and protos sitting. Bricked since "acceptance" on the 9th. Meanwhile no problems and fast as ever shipping TO asia. Something stinks.
Received my order from Mandarake today, took 3 days from payment to get here by DHL. I had to eat a painful 4350 yen shipping cost for an 8500 yen order, but when you find something you really want... you gotta buy before it’s too late.
This same thing just happened to me, after waiting 2 months for 2 small toys that I rly wanted (a clear MIA and a mini Hormorahs) this was kinda nice/comforting.
My DHL package arrived in 5 days, so still have one EMS package that has been there since the 4th of April, so if you order from a Mandarake, DHL is the way to go
