Not sure exactly what you mean by this, but I watched it last night. So unlike you, I've got the balls to form my own opinion about it rather then let other people's reviews dictate what I should like or shouldn't like

Cool bro - good for you! Keep fighting that neckbeard fight.. we salute you.

Anyway, as I was saying.. TROS was nothing but a pleasure to watch. Every single minute was enjoyable - and even the nerd sitting across the aisle mumbling quite loudly "fuck this" "this is dumb" didn't affect me much besides being a mildly distracting joke.

Sadly for you I keep my neck shaven. Glad you enjoyed the subpar popcorn flick.

Overall a really fun watch and a nice ending to this trilogy. Was even better the 2nd time around!

It definitely felt a bit nostalgia heavy and the stakes didn't feel real at times. More on that below:

The scene where Chewy dies to quickly reveal he's alive and C3PO saying goodbye forever then having his memory restored really cheapened those moments. I would've absolutely been a wreck if Chewy actually died but I thought they made some big strides with those decisions at first. The fan service turned those into completely meaningless moments.

    And RIP Ben :(

Seeing Star Wars with family & friends on the big screen is still what its all about... screw the reviews and go see it for yourself!

Whelp, that was a bit of a mess. Tongue's in my cheek when I say this, but the click-bait review that passed through my head mid-way through the screening was A movie smart enough for toddlers that's just scary enough to force their parents to have to watch it with them. The other snarklet that the ol' brains forced on me, just a moment ago: Driver remains a national treasure and A+ for armpits! Pretty much dead serious about that one, heh.

Had a lengthy and nuanced chat with my friend Melissa afterwards, but feeling much too lazy and generally underwhelmed to bother bricking about it here. Happy for you if you you dug it, though!

I though they knocked it out of the fucking park. It's like the ultimate OK Boomer movie.

Also, saw at at the Drafthouse at 8am,and they had good coffee and bacon pecan chocolate chip cookies, the "Chewey". Quite tasty.

Its underperforming quite well at the moment. It needs to make over a billion to succeed currently. And that's JUST to make even considering all the re-shoot's they went through.

I would have been more interested in the Lucas Film cut they decided not to go with which got the highest rating from test viewers.

Maybe I'll enjoy Rise more if and when I see it again. Good moments but overall it felt sloppy, and there were times when I thought of a better way to write a line literally as it was being spoken.

Think the mouse/lucasfilm/whatever would do better setting a full film or series in Kijimi (winter city) or Canto Bight (casino world).

I sincerely regret my previous comments, and realize now I should not have enjoyed the film.

The new Disney Wars movies remind me of game developers who dumb down there games so it's easier for casual players to get into it.

Why do adults just straight up lie and pull shit out of their ass? A quick Google search will tell you that production costs for The Rise of Skywalker is around $400 million - which it is on track to recoup this opening weekend.

I hate being called a liar more than anything else but hey the hard evidence is all over the internet.. Ya got served

If the Joker can make 1billion in the USA alone than this one should be able to make that money back easily like Avengers end game did. It wont bomb but the movie still needs to make it past 1 billion to be successful. And unfortunately casuals are gonna go sop it up no matter what cause they don't know any better.

It's ok to like your casual pop corn flick. No one's denying you that.

I always though Lucas made popcorn flicks, I mean look at American Graffiti. I’ve never understood the anger about how simple it is. It’s not a Werner Herzog piece.

Well it's opening weekend and again it went up another 100 domestically since i typed up the last one on Friday. The real test comes the second and third week. But again I choose to sit this one out for now till Lucas Film gets there shit together. In the mean time just waiting for that next amazing Star Wars RPG.

The only thing I got served today was a sub sandwich from Jimmy Johns and it was fucking amazing.

After watching it...there are parts I liked and parts that I was incredibly bored. It looked visually great but it is very clear that this new trilogy was not mapped out.
I actually had more fun watching Jumanji 2.

I judge these new Star Wars movies with two criterias, 1) Is it a good Star Wars movie 2) Is it a good movie. Most of them are entertaining to watch for the action, but the writing isnt my favorite and it seems like there's a joke or some humorous line in every scene. I've seen them all at least once and I think I'm good for a bit before I watch them all again.

But it kind of sounds like you are trying. We get it; you didn’t like it, and you think the people who did are casual fans who don’t know anything.
You just seem dead-set to drive home that point again and again.
Personally, I didn’t see it and my desire to is pretty low, but besides this one post, that’s all you’ll really from me about it.

I got into trouble this week saying that 'toxic star wars fandom' was a myth (for a variety of reasons not gonna get into here) but there is a certain level of mindless contrarian-ism (?) that comes along with popular nerd-culture in the 21st century that just puts a gross taste in your mouth.. btw in response to the post above "BAZINGA!!" (is that how you are supposed to use that word?!)

I'd take Star Wars on a bad day over any Marvel flick. No contest.
