I've been after a first edition Bandai made in Japan Shogun Warriors Godzilla for a long time.

Never had one in 1977 but 42-years later, I've found a very tidy one...

Very nice shape indeed! How's the functionality? Fist and tongue in working order?

Be careful kid, “you’ll shoot your eye out!”

Yep, still a lot of zip in that fist of fury!

As for the tongue, very clean and works perfectly.

What I really wanted was one with the functions working, unbroken toes and soles of the feet, no cracks in the body, no gaps in the mould joins and one where the screws weren’t rusty. Finding that and a first edition (where they were still made in Japan) was a struggle; however, this one ticks all those boxes and has really clean (and bright) paint as well.

He was a toy I always coveted as a child, so I am chuffed to find one in this condition.

What a wonderful adoption! It would be super nice to see a video of the toy in action!

I’ll see what I can do BUT I am not growling and smashing the place up just to create realism.

I ordered "Godzilla Toho Collection: Volume 1 & Volume 2" DVDs, but when it came in today, it was two copies of Volume 1...

    Another bit of non-vinyl.

I've collected tin-toys for awhile and Marx are a company who used to, consistently, make some of the coolest toys in the 60s and 70s.

There are three pieces I've been hunting for awhile and, having lost out on one of them in December, when this one popped up, I was happy when I managed to purchase it. A couple of the functions aren't working, which I knew, but I'm hoping to get it back up and running again; they are notoriously complex, so fingers crossed.

It is a Marx's Hootin Hollow Haunted House from the 1960s... here is a link to the original ad (the scariest thing being the creepy chap presenting it)

And some more info, if you're so inclined: https://boingboing.net/2015/10/30/the-coolest-tin-toy-from-the-s.html

Hoooo, yeah. I don't collect tin, but every now and then, one will catch your eye and you just have to have it. That's a beautiful toy and no mistake. I'm sure ive seen this in one of my books on vintage toys ...

    Great score mate.

First car parts I've ordered from Japan. WedsSport wheel caps showed up today, they fit perfectly and clean up the wheel a little bit.

ZGUO Transforming Food Robots. Basically a Chinese KO of the McDonalds 'Changeables' - except larger and a bit more elaborate.

I'm always on the lookout for funky vintage wind-ups and I stumbled across this one on YJA. When they are boxed they fetch silly money but this one (without box) didn't get any traction, so I managed to get him at a very fair price:

He is supposed to but I haven't wound him up yet to check...:?

You know what it is like, you're a little concerned that you'll end up with a pile of plastic, springs and widgets :D
