It's time to start pinching those pennies and reconsidering your foolish investment in those silly vinyl dollies. Lego has just announced that their next Star Wars project from the Ultimate Collector Series (you know, the incredibly expensive, clearly not for kids 'toys'..... I wonder who would go in for an idiotic sales model like that?) is going to be a new version of the Imperial Star Destroyer. I mean, c'mon, alongside the Falcon, this is such a quintessential spaceship design that ranks easily among the top of any across whatever fiction has thus far been envisioned. I love it, and have since I was a kid and saw it dramatically engulf an entire screen in its immensely impressive entrance during the first seconds of Star Wars. I love that little [to scale] Tantive IV. But I sort of think it needs to come with an entire squadron of Imperials to run the whole ship. At a whopping 4,784 pieces, and coming in at an assembled length of 43", this set comes with a suitably inflated price tag. I believe it will set you back a full $700 when it is eventually released, to be able to check out how cool (or frustrating?) this is to assemble and play with. Still, I can admire the ambition and execution of it. I bet it's pretty amazing. I'll have to take Oli's word on it though. Watch for the set to be released 1 October. Images from Lego. Can do. (Though I should probably get SLM's permission, I imagine he won't mind too much). Best suggestion wins! [or one I decide to come up with at random ^_^ ]
The title doesn’t have to change, it should just be “anyone here collect LEGO” “legos” is not correct. It’s always “LEGO” singular or plural, and in all caps.
I wish I had the money for that. I can’t remember where I saw it, but someone built a custom one with engine rooms, Vader’s throne room, enough room for a imperial landing craft, two foldable TIE fighters, the probe droid dropped out. Just crazy.
Been bugging me for years, too! Fixed, sorry SLM. I did, however, leave the lower case a in place at the beginning. You know, for old time's sake. Feel free to executively change my executive decision. pH! As long as I'm in this room... Anybody here collect vintage duploes? The stinker in me wanted to change the title to LEGGO for a couple of days.
stupid website forced me to buy 2 1989 Batmobiles on their black friday sale. asked for the order to be corrected but customer service is closed till Monday and of course my order shipped out today... great
I have a problem of not sticking to one collection. I have a closet full of lego pieces unassembled and half-sorted, haha.
If it makes you feel any better I’m in the same boat. Except mine are in tubberware bins in the basement.
just got all LEGO outa storage and am currently building it all- in an effort to try to purge some. Really excited about these...
Anyone pick up the wooden minifigure? I wanted to grab one but the 120 threw me off and now they're out of stock. Just wondering if I should kick myself for not acting sooner or if im not missing out on much for those who got one.
