Oh for real it's not your video? Wait.. this is blowing my mind. Just checking - so you don't own YouTube as well? Because that's totally another impossible conclusion that I jumped to when you posted that PS ok boomer
I do own a good chunk of YouTube, Friendster, too, but I try to keep all that on the downlow. It's a giggle how much you hate that movie, though!
On a serious note - the vast majority of people who come out and defend the film these days pretty much do it just to troll the 'haters'. I hardly see anybody legitimately defending the film as a solid film (YouTube videos don't count as they were made years ago and most of those people have come to their senses). The Last Jedi has become nothing more than currency for trolls who want to appear as legit Star Wars fans when they just come off as Funko buying posers
Truly! I've gone to see every SW movie since '77 on opening day. I love Star Wars. I existed on a steady and obsessive diet of Star Wars through my entire childhood. It is a huge part of why my aesthetics developed the way they did, and why I am here on this board talking with youse. It set me on a path of art and sci-fi discovery that has continued though my life. I thought The Last Jedi was fine, just fine. I have not been able to understand the staggering degree of uptightness out there about Star Wars. Star Wars fandom is waaaay overrated. Ain't a goddamn thing special about it. It's a club with way too many members. It should be no one's hill to die on. -Some Funko-Buying Poseur
I might have been a lifer like you, Mitch, but SW more than less died for me back in early January of 1997; I left that screening of the first special edition a changed man. Wasn't until December of 2015 that I made it back to a theater for one of those biscuits, and that was at the goading of a friend that cares way more about such things than I do; she's the sort that watched Yoda's saberwork frame-by-frame to better appreciate the choreography! Me? I eventually watched Phantom Menace via pan-and-scan VHS on a 13" TV while lounging in bed - in 2003, maybe? - and still haven't seen the whole of the other two. Wasn't until last year that I'd seen even a minute of them, actually, as I decided that 87 minute fan edits might be interesting - they weren't - and I wanted to better understand my friend's lasting prequel fixation. Anyway, best part was kind-of being able to make out Natalie's pokies in some gladiator-type scene, as I recall. All four of the new ones were fine, caught each of 'em in public on their opening weekends; same friend. I guess I found myself a little angry while looking at Rogue One - such squandered potential there, and the fan favorites pr0n insertions were maddening - and I was pretty gobstruck when the guy in the fur suit ran right past the old lady at the end of FA, but Solo didn't even fully register as SW with me, seemed more of an adequate adventure film with character actors in it that I enjoy, and, here's the kicker, at no point during the run of either time I had a look at Last Jedi did I find myself upset. Worst part about it was there were fewer scene in it where I could almost see Rei's armpits. Yes, best part of Force Awakens was Daisy Ridley's armpits. So, that all said, please enjoy this image of the toys I just ordered cases of: If I don't get the chases I'll die! PS - Harmy for the legacy, Marvel '77-'81 for the fun, and McQuarrie monographs for the soul.
dude I love this. I love Star Wars but not so much to argue about it. The prequels just were and these sequels are just now. They can never stand up to the originals, but I do enjoy them trying new things.
Sounds like you only like Star Wars for things you can easily find elsewhere... try Pornhub next time you get bored playing with yer Funkos!
I found Last Jedi to be a bit of a mess, where as Force Awakens was smooth as silk. The lasting memory of Last for me was Mark Hamill's scratchy little chicken legs. They kept making me laugh. Very comical looking. My brother hated Last Jedi when he first saw it and really banged on about it, but he's since relented a bit. I didn't hate it, it had some good scenes, but a lot of bad writing in my humble opinion.
Way to fetish-shame a guy, mate! And how dare you equate Ms. Ridley's sublime shoulder nethers with the reason your work PC keeps freezing up!
Disney has damaged the brand to deeply at this point to try and salvage anything. You barely even see Star Wars toys on the shelves anymore.
Production design and cinematography in the Mandalorian are pretty good but christ, what atrocious dialogue. I can't tell if I'm supposed to laugh every time he talks? I'm not even finding it enjoyable in a campy way. I feel like if he spoke less, a la Boba, his character would be a lot more interesting. Holding on for Baby Yoda at this point.
I could have enjoyed the Last Jedi, if it had at least been consistent. There was this thread of "things can be different" going through the majority of the movie, but then for the last 30 minutes, they just rushed to reset everything they were building toward for the first 2 1/2 hours.
You might want to go have a look at a genuinely and verifiably excellent entertainment this week anyway... Just in case!
Meanwhile in Fortnite..... They have also Finn and Mary Sue Rey as well as stun baton and Tie Fighter glider. The Sith Trooper is the only thing im interested in really.
Spoiler Free Review time... Gonna be seeing The Rise of Skywalker again in the cinema for sure - it's pure Star Wars. Great imagery, adventure, tons of action and dozens of new interesting aliens to pick out in the backgrounds. If you want some M. Night Shyamalan shit then maybe go torture yourself by watching The Last Jedi again. Thankfully that movie officially doesn't exist anymore!
I mean I've heard enough about the movies current plot to consider it's a trash fire and these are from ppl that have actually seen it. Doesn't answer really anything till the last minute while still being half assed and is guaranteed to piss off most competent star wars fans. Is trending worse than the Phantom Menace in terms of review score. I'll watch it once my foots healed up better.
