Wish they just ended it with the white walkers killing every last one of them at this point.

I wish Theon HAD caught and killed the Stark children. Always hated Bran's story line from the moment he came out of his coma - the only thing he was ever good for was getting pushed out of a window.

Some of the worst dialogue to come out of Tyrion's mouth, ever.

So for the previous episode the Dragons had zero chance against the Ballista's, but in this episode they take all of them out with ease?

Also, is it just me but did King's Landing seem to double in size in this episode? I don't remember the city being that big.

Yeah man.. Wounds bro. Deep ones and on both sides of the body!
I remember thinking when they were in the bottom of the keep, he should've bled out by now.. or drowned in his own blood.

I really hated that Jar Jar binks moment with Euron looking at the camera and saying "I killed Jamie Lannister." I mean, we get it. Fuck you fans.
Even my mom texted me that night and was like, Game of thrones sucks.

I am probably in the minority in that the last episode didn't piss me off incredibly - and more than those which preceded it. At this point I feel like we are all just riding it out though. We've hit those great highs and drops, and are now just chugging along to the finish line waiting for the bar to release s so we can get off. GoT season 8, brought to you by all the lines of coke, an Ouroboros of a writing room, and the most disinterested of showrunning team HBO could muster.

Honestly, the Dany thing doesn't even bother me (other than being completely rushed and forced). This has been telegraphed from season 1, and from anyone who has a messiah-complex and has claimed she will "take what is [hers] through fire and blood", this is hardly anything new. We also knew that KL was going to be ruined by dragonfire from her vision. So all of that was completely line. BUT it was the getting there, the more than sudden 360, the complete lack of planning, recognising the victory, or even just going after Cersei directly - which was so obvious ans easy for her - that made this a tough one to swallow. But whatever, fine, Targs be crazy and all that shit, right???

So, take everything I said about the scorpions last week, strike that, and reverse it. Yep. Oh that made a helluva lot of sense. Last episode we saw them cower back (and lose a dragon) when there were 9-11 ships. This week there were hundred(s) maybe? Added to that the incredible line of scorpions covering the entirety of KL outer wall (at least). Nevermind that though, suddenly their super effective, magically-endowed weapon is utterly useless and a single dragon can decimate the entirety of what seems to be a suddenly vastly expanded city. As much as it made so little sense and was just a super deus ex plot device that they had probably always had in their back pocket as a Get of Jail Free card, this was at least in line with the power/threat that the GoT world had historically portrayed the dragons to be, versus, you know, everything else. But in any case the massive shift in power dynamic felt implausible to say the least.

No, if nothing else, honestly, I think Sunday's episode should have actually just been the finale. Do we really need to see where they are going from here? With everything that happened, and some logical 'open' adventures left, a very minor tweak could have just wrapped it right there. What I don't need to see is an extra 40 min LotR-style post-story exposition. At this point the writers have made it clear they are not going to give us answers to so many of the plotlines, while others will just be either (a) killed off or (b) ignored as if they never exists, that it just serves no purpose to even have any expectations of a satisfying ending. More than anything though, I guess I just feel let down that once again, with so little time remaining in the entirety of our 'GoT world' why they would spend SO much time with the city chasing scenes, the mother/daughter death telegraphed from the opening of the episode, and just more and more beating us over the head with stuff that isn't advancing any story or serving a purpose other than delivering spectacle. Which, if that is what I wanted I would be watching Bayformers or Fast and Fasterer. It is a disappointing payoff for a show (and ASOIAF stories) which had such potential. Probably we will never get to see the full versions of WoW or DoS both, but we can be optimistic. But assuming for the moment that this is all fans have to go off of, well, I don't find it particularly surprising people feel let down. I still see it as mindless entertainment and accept it as a television show, but perhaps they should have re-thought this entire project and if B&B are really so fed up with it - as they VERY clearly are - then just handed the reins over to someone else; it is not impossible.

TL;DR - the rushed get this shit out the door decline continued per status quo, and yet still somehow managed to do it incredibly inefficiently.

At any rate, one episode to go. Let's see I suppose.

    Random musings:

    - magical 'pale' horse, really? aside from being named On the Nose, I think this stretches an already frustrating episode
    - I was never one for Cleganebowl, but I guess it satisfied those folks with blatant fanservice? maybe?
    - plot armour was so thick around this episode (as with the entire season), but Jaime might as well be Highlander at this point, with Arya being a T800
    - speaking of plot armour, Euron was utterly pointless in the end, having him escape one thing after another, be built up to a big baddie even though there was no justification for that, only to have a self-reflective Jar-Jar moment there was quite a middle finger to viewers
    - Varys probably deserved better, esp. given his role and build up surrounding all the 'magical' side of things, but I was not expecting them to deliver it
    - there is going to be a huge, massive challenge wrapping this up in one episode, in any kind of clear or satisfying way. repercussions of KL alone could take most of the remaining time, and the deeper we have got into the final stretches of this show (as evidenced even by the opening scrawl) it is moderately irritating how the show has decided to completed ignore 97% of the rest of the GoT world, but especially Westeros. Oh yeah, remember that there were Seven Kingdoms? You know you do seem to remind us every time one of the characters delivers their title. Sigh.

Speaking of truly, the dumbest Lannister, that hand reappearing is just the perfect [non]resolution to how this show is being handled.

On this note, if Bronn wants Highgarden so bad he should just go take it. It's been sitting empty since the show creators reduced House Tyrell to four people, and killed them all off in two episodes.

Where do I get me a dragon that doesn't require refuelling? Also, dragon fuel.. where do I get that? Summer bbq season is upon us..
Dany: I love how King's Landing smells after a good old fashioned dragon roast..

I do the same thing with subtitles, I couldn't watch it without them, and thought the same thing when they gave her a name. I assumed she was a character from a previous episode that I couldn't remember. Pretty weird.

Fucking uneventful and BORING. Instead of being a memorable final season cementing the canon in our memory, it will be a remember Game of Thrones..?? eh, not really what was that one about again? Vikings?

Perhaps it will play better as the denouement of a 7-hour rapid rewatch? Not nominating myself as the guinea pig! I will say that it was considerably less painful than The LotR Perpetual reEnding Machine.

Could have done with a final bit of sexposition from Hot Pie at the very end (delivered as voiceover in the GRRM novel / The Wonder Years / Grey's Anatomy POV style, of course), him letting us know (between mouthfuls of boobie) what everyone did after graduation; an eventual crane shot taking us higher and higher above his hot tub action with the village nubiles, voice fading into a shot of Bran's features warged upon the face of a Peeping Raven as the electric guitars are cued and let loose... CREDITS!

^ Someone please punctuate the above properly for me. Just waking up.
