Bootsale. Seller wanted £2 - i got her down to £1.50. Kenner 1992 'Queen Alien'. Press a bulb under the back of the head and the inner teeth shoot out, press a button on the side of the hips and it swivels for a tail attack.
I remember all these toys being in shops in the '90s (along with many a neglected toy line), and being disappointed because none of them really captured the screen xenomorphs (mostly Alien) to me. Alas, I wish I had given them more time. Still a slightly flawed line, but what '90s toy line wasn't? but certainly in hindsight - and knowing what was to come afterwards (Super7 notwithstanding) - I have greater appreciation for them. I could add a few more to that list as well, but point probably made.
Loot Crate Terminator Endo Skull, for the grand price of 20p at a boot sale. The sellers were a family of girls with their mother. They couldn't of looked less interested when i asked what they wanted for it - they just wanted rid of it i suppose
Bootleg Batman. I have a lot of Gundam bootlegs, and this guy is almost certainly made by the same people. He even has the obligatory red light in his chest. £1 at a boot sale. Probably the same price he was at retail.
Biker Mice from Mars 12" figures (Mega Mice) for a quid each at a boot sale. Throttle & Vinnie. Proving you don't need lots of articulation to make a cool action figure. These boys have been in many scrapes but still look good to me!
Nozomi 700 Shinkansen models/toys. The one on the top i bought in Japan, the boxed one is from a local charity shop for £2. Its still the best mode of transport i have ever been on in my entire life! Two vintage Airfix models on their blister cards. 50p and £1. The plane is from 1973, the soldier from 1974. Charity shop bargains!
A quality Japanese Fuurin Wind Chime. Vintage, made of cast-iron with original box. It was a couple of quid at a boot-sale. It has a nice delicate sound
Not sure what these two are from, but they are cool. £1 each at boot sales, found them probably a few months apart. Another cool ARCO Robot Zone figure, with original laser gun. The day-glo paint kept making my camera go weird, this is the best shot i could manage! £1 at a boot sale.
Two more cheap blasters for my blaster collection. I bought them about a week apart, one from a boot sale and one from a charity shop. Coincidently made by the same company . . . SRM Co. Inc.
Anyone recognise these two lads? They look familiar to me. They were a quid for the pair in a charity shop. About 3.5" high with articulated head and arms, made from a heavy soft vinyl.
Arcade cabinet fridge magnet. 50p at a boot sale, about 3.5" high. It needs new batteries but i assume there is sound and a flashing light at the top when you push the coin slot.
I had a very good weekend finding stuff in charity shops. Here's one of my fav's. I've been looking for one of these for years and years, and finally one shows up in a charity shop for £2. Its in near perfect condition, and all the electronics work. Bargain! Saba Sword (Power Rangers) Talking Tiger
1994 Thunder Megazord from a charity shop for £2. Missing his remote control, but he will still look cool up on a shelf. I love the older Morphin stuff.
Two Galaxy Warrior bootlegs for 50p each at two separate boot sales. Basically, solid rubber bootlegs of knock off figures. I'm starting to really like MOTU style bootleg toys!
