If this is really who I’ve heard it is, that dudes got other issues. Told me at the last TAG show that I better watch my back. Haha think he would have to pay someone to follow through on such a threat.

Yawn... just let this thread die already.

Most remotely aware or hip to "the scene" know who the people were. If you don't, then just ask around. Won't take long to find the answers you seek. Ultimately it's a moot point as the people in question have minimal-to-zero board presence these days.

David started this thread as a platform for discussion (which has already run its course well into the ground) and not a witch hunt or springboard for juicy gossip that some here seem to live for.

Boy I'm glad I've rarely needed to come here. This forum isn't much different from North Korea.
All the Kaiju's kidnapped from Japan & none of its allowed to ever leave. Ironically it all gets "flipped" into endless Kaiju parodies that you value more than the originals. All defectors are caught and assassinated & you wont let outsiders try to liberate or reason with you or even try to make you see sense.
Like most forums & governments its always a certain type of people who just want total control over everything they know little about before coming up with the rule book.

if you guys really want to know who ran the booth ill let you know.
    It was ran by Monstercircus.

I don't get why everyone is scared to name the person.

    A. That wasn't the purpose of this thread.
    B. Conversations of this nature are best handled with tact.
    C. Throwing someone under the bus in an attempt to polish one's not-so-spotless reputation shows the complete absence of any.

I gave my take on the situation, not my place to call out names. If it was anyones place , it would of been the originator of the thread as they brought up the subject in the first place.

    What's behind Door C for $10,000, Barry!

Regarding the booth with the Kumon being flipped, the truth as I understand it is that the individual toys were not labeled or separated out as belonging to any one person there, so yeah, knowing the names means diddly and that's why no one is publicly calling anyone out. Not knowing who was selling what and hearing that some of yall got what you consider fair priced toys at the table, is a good reason not to blame the lot. Some of you are going to say they're guilty by association, but we also don't know the story on how that table came together. Regardless, if the others weren't flipping anything themselves, then there's no reason to wrap their names in it. That's how I feel anyway. Having known this before, I wouldn't have cared to know who they were. I'm responding to my original inquiry about these guys and in part to your beginning post at the start of this thread @animator.

However, thatfuckerjerry was at this booth, and I'm not sure if he was selling there, but his actions are no secret so I have no problem mentioning his name. In fact, I heard something funny that happened with him at Dcon, and I'm sure any of you who were there will know more than me, but when Jerry went up to a booth to claim a lottery number that was called, much of the crowd there yelled, "FLIPPER!" The title of this thread certainly applies to him.

When their actions are absolutely known tho and they're still getting a pass,.. I don't know, I think the lines get blurred for some makers when these flippers are supporting them as buying "fans".

I witnessed Jerry being made fun and people calling him a flipper of during the lottery at Paul Kaiju's booth but I was under the impression that it was all a big joke, considering Paul was chiming in and also allowing him to buy toys..

I get the impression some makers "get off" on the fact their toys get flipped.. of course they try to portray themselves as being pissed off about it to save face. However when their toys keep ending up in the hands of known flippers then it makes you wonder.. it's like they are trying to manipulate their own toys into having an inflated market value so that they can raise their own retail prices.

Some hyped makers are close to pricing themselves out of a reasonable window for most collectors. I like MVH toys and I wish I had more sculpts but $250 plus $65 shipping is a bit much for a blank DX at retail..

Its a bummer, but it’s much better that Rich gets the money instead of a flipper. You can’t blame him for wanting some of that money that everyone else is making off his art. But then it kind of continues, someone is going to flip that recent dx for an even higher amount to make up the difference compared to the prices they used to be sold for.

It doesn’t seem that anyone can win over the flippers in then end. As long as more people get into these toys, the prices are just going to rise.

And that shipping cost kills, but that’s out of every makers hands. They could offer the first class shipping, but if it’s going to a flipper, they will most likely end up saying the package was lost and open up a case.

It’s happened before, so they have no choice but doing it the proper way to cover themselves. Many toys are currently on the market for $250, entry level artists who some we never heard of til their IG account showed up showing a sculpt that was about to drop. I’m sure marbles and double pours like this cost more than the standard 1 color pull. Don’t remember if it has happened yet, but the sludge body was getting remolded, there’s added cost as well. Manny is correct, there is. I winning... the first Black Sabbath there was painted items from $125-$300... following IG hashtags etc( also helps if you were there). You can clearly see how much moved overseas. And yeah at inflated rates I’m sure. BS2, there hasn’t been much movement, or publicy showed anyways. I personally don’t think much of BS2 has moved hands (i know some have) but percentage wise i bet BS2 is totally different then the inaugural show. Prices were higher. Hell of more people. All 1 offs for the most part.

I mean if you don’t like a artists price you don’t do it right? Before the drama of telenobo i was like that’s cool, I’d get one if it was a decent rate. And it was $500 for a blank in Chinese vinyl, single pull, wrapped in aluminum foil.
