OK who's watched it? I absolutely loved it and watched it 3 times over the weekend on demand. Great wrap up to all the casts stories after all that time. Spud was great but Renton's 'Choose Life' speech in this one was a defining moment for me in a film. Because 21 years ago I thought the Choose Life speech was a bit over the top and predictable (although it was sarcastic and funny) this time around though- dead fucking on. I read some butt-hurt millennial reviews online saying they thought it was unfairly directed at them. No it's not! It's just the way of this horrible world these days.

I felt disappointed in all of it. Felt pointless, ugly, and non redemptive.

Still love the first one. Haven't seen this yet.
Was it based on the Porno storyline or did they go someplace else with it?

Haven't read but apparently T2 was 'loosely' based/had elements of it.

Went in with low expectations and left the theater relatively pleased. A few bones to pick (don't feel like typing a full critique on the phone), but all-in-all not bad. Not great (nor holds a candle to the original) but decent for what it was.

I loved the first. Still waiting to watch the second. I have really high expectations for it and don't really want to get let down.

It's just a different kind of movie, about a different time in life. Where as the first celebrates youth, the second shows how mid-life can disappoint. As long as you go in not expecting something exactly like the first you can appreciate it for what it does.

I liked watching it after not seeing the original since first released .. hazy half rememberences of the characters and their exploits brought back weird memories of those days .. cue hypnotoad
