Its not a superb sculpt, but the texture works well with that shiny finish. Its a mix between hard edges and prickles. The shapes help it a lot - having seen versions of it painted, this is as good as it goes for it, I guess.

At least its a try, thats different from all the garbage some Americans/Westerners are putting out these days. At least its not a mass of puss and blisters.

Nice to see a texture used that is not "rotten/putrid" everything.

I actually like the Ghost Whale thing, but really don't like the sprays on that one in particular.
Definitely don't like it enough to ever buy it though. I guess I'm kind of neutral on it... I like the design, but not as sofubi, you know? When I think of sofubi, I think of there being some kind of play/posability element to it. This looks more like a statuette.

I've never seen one in person or held one in hand, but every photo I've seen makes it look ... not flattering. They could have executed the sculpt different for sure, and if this is what Candie was really going for and is stoked on it than more power to her. But yeah definitely not my favorite.

Why would you wish that on some poor kitty? I noted this once before but:

The new Tripus to me is well done, but not a design choice that I would have made. I just can't dislike anything that Pico Pico has a hand in honestly.

Not sofubi but spotted these in Epcot last week.

Honestly, I personally love them. They're so horrendous and shoddy they're just fantastic. <3

HAHA. Hey - it even comes with a handle so you can throw it at things...( like in a trash can for example).

My favorite Disney characters too! You've got Nose Beard the Pirate, Desert Fashion French Stewart, and the most controversial Disney character - Stone Cold Fox Lipstick Austin!

Honestly I am very happy I have this, I used to be a diehard Masters of the Universe fan, so just the fact that this exists was cool for me, It took me a couple of years to track it down, but my friends at work tell me it looks like a Korean sumo wrestler with yellow hair

So I guess it belongs here.

I present the Korean bootleg heman sofubi figure.

Why does it look like a severe burn victim? :? The fur texture is nice but then there's... all of that.

Wait, it this the fugly thread, or just the most popular new sofoobee toyz thread, because now I am confused?

I had never heard of Yngwie Malmsteen @abelincolnjr so, um, thanks for that.... I guess?

@boon velvet Legitimately laughed out loud at that one JP, so please, heartfelt felt thanks a to a good SB buddy, because I really needed it today.

@shincartoon I DEMAND you remove that this instant, that toy is amazing, and in absolutely no way does it deserve to be showcased here alongside these other - ahem - toys. I love that He-Man, and now I want one for myself. I wonder if this classifies as properly a bootleg though? I presume it is unlicensed, so technically I guess, but they are genuinely invoking the He-Man name, as well as using a fair deal of shots with production Mattel toys. You know what, I don't care, just give me one of these! I also find it incredibly interesting that they were making MOTU figures in Korea in 1991. Congratulations man, you got yourself a great toy there, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

That's the problem, the popular new sofoobee are hideously fugly!

I mean, look at that poor thing... a three-headed ape that looks like it rolled around in a fire ant mound.

Yeah, I've seen them on IG and the hype is on. But for what?
    Looks contagious...
Probably for the best if they were buried in the desert like E.T. Before a new age of plague hits us.

Has anyone seen that doc by that way? I really need to track it down at some point, as it's something I was excited about seeing (in addition to the He-Man doc, which I am never sure materialised either, after languishing in production so long).

I think it's more people who find Yeezy Boosts and NMDs visually appealling are the same people who think this is a good toy and are hyping it up... no amount of money or instagram likes can buy you a good sense of style and good taste.
