Most people have an excuse for flipping or simply own it, but YOU are either denying the very definition of flipping for your own absolution or are really too dense to understand it. That is really the only sad part about this. At least to me. Well, its actually sad that there is a need to continue calling out Skullbrain members for flipping toys.

And just because people don't speak up for or act on their beliefs doesn't negate their beliefs. Look at where Donald Dump made it. But then again, I'm just a "nasty" man

Why don't all of you opportunists go make your own board full of "alternative facts" and rules and fucking flip each other into poverty. Win/win situation there. I promise not to come over there and dictate how you collect :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Just to add more context, you had this in your bigcartel store for 150. Then when you realized you'd get more on eBay after the bids went up so quickly you pulled it. You are selling the two of these combined for more than the lucky bag cost, and as Ben pointed out, you got one as a free gift. It's just not cool and you know it.

And to top it off, everything else of yours is BIN on eBay. You knew you were going to be raking in the cash on these. Some of us enjoy "ALL" of some artists work and would have happily paid a little over retail for these. Because we collect what we like, not what will make us money.

Selling a free gift... I'm sorry, but that is pretty damn low.
The price you were willing to pay for a toy is not the toy's value within the community. Let's just say it how it is, you have no regard for the community. You just want to move your toys as fast as possible so you can get more money to buy more toys. If you have to sell them for less than you paid, you do it, because you want that money back in your spending pool. In turn, you have no issue funding your impulsive, bad decision buys by flipping choice pieces.
Selling below retail and what you paid doesn't make you a martyr, nor does it excuse the flipping. Sofubi collectors have their own smallknit community, and if you have a problem with the "help one another, respect the artist, and don't flip" mentality, then maybe it's time to move onto something else.
Most of us started to collect and decided to respect the pre-established culture here. I've come to really see why it is that way. People truly help each other here, and tend to even make friends with the artists they collect from. I'm sorry you spend so much time fighting it.

I just wanted to add my tuppenceworth to this recent flipping discussion.

Could we clarify the definition of flipping on skullbrain? If Cindy does not flip on the sales thread here, should she be called-out so vehemently on a skullbrain thread? The prices you are criticizing were on big cartel, not on the sales thread, is that correct? Every time i've seen a sale of hers here on SB the prices have been perfectly reasonable.

I'm not defending flipping, i just want to say that Cindy has always been very reliable and honest about the toys she sells and i would never of described her as a flipper. In the time when she was more actively selling here on SB i always thought her prices were fair and very often less than what you would expect to pay elsewhere.

If she has 'flipped' a few of her toys for profit it has definitely been a very rare occurrence. Maybe this is the 'straw that broke the kumon's back', though ;)

Anyway, @MonstaIslandCzar. I'm not saying you are wrong to have a passionate opinion. I agree, if you collect a certain toy and are constantly out-priced by flippers it can be a very frustrating thing - but i know for a fact that Cindy is not the first collector on SB that has occasionally made some profit on ebay or wherever . . .

Apologies for continuing the derail. I expect heat from this comment, but i had to say something.

I always love this discussion (every 6 months when it kicks off)!

    From past experience . . .

You sell cheap on Skullbrain, accept the loss, be the 'nice guy' and risk selling to an unscrupulous asshat that then immediately flips it!

You sell for reasonable $$$ on Skullbrain in an attempt to make your money back, risk shit sitting on the BST forever and the PM parade of lowballing asshats and chancers!

You sell at market value on Skullbrain and risk shit sitting on the BST forever and/or being called out as a flipper and/or told to 'Take it to eBay'.

You sell on eBay with a $1.00 starting price to let the market decide the price and risk being called out for 'knowing it will end high'.

You sell on eBay (or any other outlet) with a fixed price at market value and risk it sitting there forever and being called out as a flipper.

To this end, there is no positive outcome to selling toys EVER, so presumably everyone should retain every single item they've ever purchased (bearing in mind some of us have been collecting close to 30 years) and have it buried or cremated with them . . . even then the Environmental agency will probably give you shit for poisoning the land or toxic emissions.

Conversely, without sales and trades you will NEVER have access to ANY toy that you didn't buy at retail directly from a manufacturer, store or artist.

    Meh!

This argument is so tired and boring. Do what you want with your toys. Collectors will pay attention. Deal with it.

Yes, but it always comes back and it always will.

I apologise for extending it this time - i just wanted to point out that Cindy is not some scumbag profiteer. Even with the 'flipping' charges against her, she's always done alright by me and plenty of other collectors on SB.

And that is something that always comes up when someone gets called out for flipping. The accused has "always done alright by me and plenty of other collectors on SB".

    Time is a flat circle.

^^ wow, i never knew how prescient i was, or should i say clichéd.
Should of known better than to try and defend someone who has been condemned to the flipper naughty book. I've learnt my lesson, sah.

I think the issue is not owning up to it. If you're flipping, just admit it. Facts are, two items are now being sold for more than the LB they came in, one was a free gift, one was priced at 150 in an online store until they realized bids were going to be more than 150 in which they pulled the Kumon from their store, etc.... then tried to use investments and loss of funds on other toys as justification.

Admittedly I get too worked up over this stuff when it comes certain pieces. Wamp wamp.

Agreed. I've always had a great experience buying from Cindy. I have a feeling that folks only get upset about / call out flipping when it's a toy they covet.

    Alright, alright... Let's compromise!
Flippers are welcome but will be shamed! If that hurts your feeling then you can use the extra cash to buy some thicker skin ;)

PS this guy only raped a girl once, he usually gets consent the rest of the time...so let's not label him
    [IMG]
Before you all blow a fucking gasket  I'm not comparing his actions to flipping, just commenting on the utter lack of critical thinking skills that is so rampant these days :dam:

You totally can, but expect a penalty when you try to withdraw from it.

There is flipping and there is FLIPPING. One is someome who just trying to make a buck or 2 from a toy that's higly in demand. The other is a real pos who seeks desperate fools that are willing to pay crazy soms of money for a piece of plastic. The first one i don't really have a problem with tbh.
