Really bummed cause I was just in Taiwan a few months ago. I definitely chose the wrong time to go. Looks like a good show, even though some of those prices are pretty crazy.

Prices were very high. I saw a group selling what looked very much like realxhead adult toys for around US$180. I'm sure I took a pic, if I can find it I will post. They were actually quite good, just very obvious in influence and the price was (imo) crazy excessive. But kids were lined up for quite a distance and shelling out. I kind of understand the line for RxH, I mean at least some of them must of known RxH, but the other guys are so new...how does one just immediately decide to drop near $200 on a standard sized toy?

Those gatchaman toys look awesome. I'd drop some yeezies on them. :O

The rest looks like the same old boring stuff that's been coming out for the past few years; Extra limbs, extra heads, boring marbling/ parts mixed, unnecessarily complex sprays apps and a good deal of hype. *yawn*

Thanks for sharing the photos. I hope you had a great time.

It's strange seeing some of the stuff that hasn't seen any coverage anywhere.. are these all new or are some of these guys established? Not really my cup of tea, but it's interesting to see these pieces. Most of them (like those robot bear things) look more suited towards the KR crowd, but with this being a general toy festival you're gonna get all styles showing up on shelves. Not sure what's going on with the T-rex torso/robot leg jumbled up guy in this pic...

@gatiio Its great to be around so many toys and enthusiastic people. The down side is the stupid lines and over pricing. I was shown a photo of people camping out overnight, and was told last year there was hardly a line. As for pricing, I thought these places are where you're meant to get a decent deal? But with so much flipping foing on I can see why the established guys and girls think they may as well 'up' the prices themselves.. Unfortunately the new kids think 'hell, I'll charge the same as them.'
As for the toys themselves, I picked up the last ever run of Mortenson witches (apparently never released officially) as they were found in a box when UNBOX was moving....and the guy said they weren't releasing any more of this kind, I didn't ask what he meant exactly by that. They really grabbed my attention, way bigger than I had expected and super heavy, I just missed out on the new Mortenson warlocky dudes, which looked amazing next to the witches.
I also like the new 'Garura War' line by Kaijin toy. He was at the same booth with Sunguts, PicoPico, Yamomark, Blobpus. You can see them in a pic above. Very tidy sculpting in line with the theme, a nice size, good playability with exchangeable hands and weapons.

@badteethcomics most things there, weren't my cuppatea, but still interesting none the less, the Tawainese market as a whole sits aesthetically and geographically between Japanese and HongKong. Actually, I saw a new Michael Lau piece [IMG]

Which is obviously not going to be to many peoples liking on here, but which I liked. It's over sized, and the fun part is all the different legs under the ghosty cloth, one unmistakably, gumby.
The dinosaur peanut head thing you mentioned, plus the others in that photo are... Better left to others to describe :)
But as you said, this is a general toy festival and it definitely provided a real gamut of styles. See below

I love the chubby little "Landshark" in the very last photo, and those Pacman Frogs next to the Canadian Hairlesses. Any info on those?

@SstatusSkuo Tawain was fun I took the train around the island and rode a scooter up into the mountains, over to Sunmoon Lake in the west side and into the Taroko Gorge on the east side, that gorge area was crazy.
@hellointerloper sorry no idea who makes it, maybe someone to do with instinct toy?

@GhostTrainGray i think the beetles were also in an instinct toy display cabinet
