Found another vintage Womble pen-topper. His name is Wellington.
If you are a Womble it is the law you have to have a visible letter 'W' on you at all times . . . .

Very good condition for a loose 'Bendy' toy. They are usually damaged. The foam-rubber cracks
and crumbles with age.

Nope, it is completely free of any makers marks. The paint apps are quite extensive, so i was assuming it was a
licensed character - but i dont really know. The look and smell of the vinyl reminds me of similar toys from the 1950's
but there is no way to be sure . . .

 

I had no idea Combex did Peyo stuff back in the day.

Badum-tish! I found two old soft-vinyl Gnomes recently - one is about 11" and the other around 18". I will post photos sometime.

Yeah, i think he's my favourite of the bunch. He has 'Sjakie Bruynzeel Apie' written on his hat. As far as i can tell it is Dutch, and it has
something to do with 'Charlie' monkey. I think he may possibly be a mascot for a Pencil and art-supplies manufacturer . . .
