@Mr. Humphreys - Did she say how much they will be asking for them, or if they will be offering them as sets?
She didn't say either way, because I didn't ask (you know I'm going to order all three anyway!). I imagine it's too early for her to say if they are going to sell them as sets or singles, and what the pricing might be. She said: "We should be offering these up. I usually get the new Medicom list the first week of each month, so my best guess is these will go up in October & the pre-order peroid is usually a month. Thank you for asking and for your support! We appreciate it!" The Lulubell contact person listed on the website is Amy... You can pester her directly, although she is unlikely to give you anymore info than I received so far... amy@lulubelltoys.com I imagine, we'll just have to wait for now, but she sounded pretty confident that Lulubell will be hatching them shortly! Or at least taking down a list of proud mamas and papas to be!
Lulubell will most likely sell them very close to the Japanese retail. Every pre-order they have offered for the Medicom Anraku Ansaku figures have been very close to retail. Same with TAG. The mini Goga are sold individually, so I expect Lulubell to also sell them individually. The mini Goga are 4320 yen each. Lulubell should have them for sale close to $45 to $50 price range.
Thanks for the update! That's not a bad price! BTW, any idea as to what is the measurement of these pups? Are they bigger or smaller than Buta toys? You could make a nice nest of straw, and fill them with little Gogas...
Ha ha love it Grace! Yet another great background pic for the laptop. Mini Gogas are a little smaller than the standard 5 inch buta toys. I'd say probably an inch shorter or so, without actually measuring. They are a nice size in the hand, I think they are the largest mini that AA makes. They are about the height of the mini Dako but much beefier. At least that's what me old creaky brain is telling me right now. EDIT: just compared my mini G to my Hayabusa, looks like about an inch difference give or take. Also, AA is of course known for his paint variants, and the original green and orange mini Goga runs are no exception. There are a lot of nice variants out there, and with so few sets I have to think at least some (most??) are essentially one-offs. A good boardie told me as much, I have yet to confirm but it makes sense. The white mini Goga that came with the Blobpus set was painted pretty uniformly though, I don't believe there were any real variants in that run, but I may be wrong.
^^^ Wowee! Thank you Michael! It just gets better and better! Paint variants justify getting at least 2 sets aye? p.s. oh! can you post a pic of your Vacuum Lady and mini G?
Grace- unfortunately variants are only on the originals Anraku painted himself. I am both lazy AND backed up with work but will post a side by side pic soon.
Since I'm digging through toys anyway, here's a comparison. Tried to get a good variety to show the size best. Golga(goga) is my only buta, but fitting as they share a name. If there's a specific figure you'd like for a size comparison, and I have it, I can take more pictures.
Thank you David!!! That gives me a better feel for Goga size. Sorta wish he was a tad smaller (maybe 3 inches?), but I'm still very excited about the prospects of having a small gaggle of small gogas . Michael, I completely understand! I've been working and traveling, so even small routine things fall through the cracks. Glad y'all liked the photo of the nestlings, and @kichigai, I think the little terrors would be more into biting off little fingers
Lulubell Toys just listed the pre-order (yes! I did get one color of each nestling ) Highly tempting to get 3 sets, so I can make that nestling display
Exciting new shipment - Anraku foursome! Sorry the pics suck and they are all bagged, but I just had time to get it from the PO and drop it home before I had to run to work. They come bagged by AA with great header cards within Medicom packaging. I will post "naked" pictures later if I can find the time. Oh, and in general, they look great! Quality paint apps, etc.
Great thing about them preorders-you'll have lots o' chances to pick them up for close to retail. Mine just came in the mail today from TAG...I think these were a steal @ 170 a pop, considering what substantially smaller toys are going for at retail these days. They are massive chunks of dino love. EDIT: white belly paint on these was a really poor choice and very out of place. Otherwise paint apps are well executed.
The photo does not provide a great perspective. I am not sure just how tall they are. Maybe only about 9" or so, but they are extremely bulky. One thing that stood out to me (in my limited seconds handling them) was that they seemed sort of stocky, like the legs were not long enough. A little malproportioned. I never noticed that before - just seems more pronounced in person. It does not detract from my joy of owning these though! One thing I just noticed looking back at the original preorder photos is that they did not go with the light orange spray in the webbing. I really liked that look, and it really distinguished it a lot more from the non-drill hands. https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0951/2404/products/0061_160324_y_3_1024x1024.jpg?v=1459270177
I still like the way they turned out, but not being able to rely on the final result looking as advertised is becoming frustrating. Still a gamble worth taking, in my opinion.
I pulled mine back out, and it appears that the back and the face were painted in that manner, but the front of the body is missing the paint. I was informed that all the ones from the store I bought mine at arrived like that. Its kind of upsetting because it really seems lacking. And I can't just reorient it (rotate or swap legs/head/arms) because the tail is molded into that piece in the back. I am not too pleased that they came like this. Sorry for continued crappy photos, but its staying in the bag for now in case I have some recourse or decide to sell it and try to obtain a replacement with paint in the front. Not sure if I am overreacting. Maybe I just need time to learn to like it like this, especially if this was actually intended and not an oversight or a corner-cutting step. EDIT: I see 2 on YJ right now. One is identical to mine, but one has light orange application on the front. I guess its a big mix right now. I'd love to hear and see what other board members received.
