@rattanicus - Holy heck, I haven't thought about Alter-Natives in forever! You know, I think I checked them out just a little too early fir my heads to be fully ready for them - tried like hell back in '88 to get into Group Therapy?, didn't take, but it seems like only a minute later I was all about Lounge Lizards, Boredoms and... Timing is everything oft significant. John Coltrane - Jupiter Variation
Right on, sis! I've been down with John and his friends for longer than a lot of the folk here have been alive, heh. I'll confess a lesser interest in the 4-piece stuff, but that doesn't mean that I don't have all of those records memorized, too. Know this one? The Extra Glenns - I Hear the Planets
In honor of the Lush show in Philadelphia I attended last night, Nothing Natural- one of the encores: Such a great show- top form!
@Lixx - One of the corners of my brain that a mention of Lush invariably activates: Who opened? Swervedriver - Son Of Mustang Ford
Iv had this remake stuck in my head for a couple of days now lol. Good music when your stacking boxes on pallets for 4 hours. And some other random shit to switch things up.
Not really a Swervedriver fan but that is my favorite song by them (use to own that cd- I read too many UK scene mags back in the day). Swervedriver to me is just a British version of a Seattle grunge band which I absolutely hated in the 90's (although I've come around to some of the merits of Nirvana in my old age) A band called Tamaryn opened up. They sounded exactly like Cocteau Twins circa Blue Bell Knoll.
One man's useless cover version... ...is another man's useless cover version. The A-side of that 'ancient' EP: Spoiler: POP! Dem memories do spill. Velvet Crush - She Cracked
My brain likes to play this one for me: Not sure why, but it's always surprised me how much my brain likes it. Lucas With the Lid Off
This week's earworm... I'm going to cry when the Sirius XM subscription in my parents' new car expires... I pretty much live off of 1st Wave, Sirius XMU, and Faction.
