i started seeing posts about this show in Brooklyn over the weekend. Any SB people planning on attending? Seems like a fun show.
So jealous, one of the many times I have wished that i lived in the US. Good luck to all who are attending, and congrats to the organisers, the lineup is mammoth!!!
I think that @BOObotcher and @Grizlli did a really great job putting this show together. It takes a lot of effort to put on an event like this, even though it seems small scale. Coordinating all the artists, securing and setting up the venue, money management, marketing, goodie bags, they even ordered pizza for everyone. There were a lot of amazing pieces on the table and I was happy to see a diverse representation of artists and styles. The venue was really nice too, clean with friendly staff. Seemed like a pretty good turnout too. All in all, from my perspective, it seemed like a success. I look forward to another Black Drove event in the future! It was beautifully handled. They treated every toy maker I know who was involved with lots of respect whether they were selling stuff for 50 bucks or 500 bucks. The charge to participate was about half what lots of other events usually ask for. Payment for stuff that sold was quick and easy. Pretty easy to see they were doing it more for the love of toys and collectors then anything else. Hope it becomes a regular event.
