Why would it, or should it be? I mean, personally, I find the idea that women need to be shielded from naughty language way more denigrating than naughty language itself. But I'm not asking you to stop that. I wouldn't even presume to do that. It's not my place.

@gatiio - Man I went bonkers trying to finish it on time :) the original plan was to draw a character from each artists involved in the show and have the shirts screenprinted at the start of July so we could wear them around town. It took way longer than I thought it would due to trying to get every detail correct and searching through google images on my phone for reference (plus work/life got in the way). This was going to be the "bad guys" shirt with some others that I didn't get a chance to draw - and the other half of the roster was going to be the good guys version. Oh well - maybe next year I'll take a crack at drawing the others that I missed out on this year.

Anyway - I've decided to offer the shirt as an open pre-order for people who can't make the show but still want a souvenir - http://badteethcomics.bigcartel.com/

@boon velvet - we really tried to get a wide variety of artists involved - it's not all gross monsters (as cool as they are) we wanted to show what's possible with the sofubi medium! And yes we will be offering leftovers after the week is done online for people who live overseas.

And I have to wonder if you'd have had the same reaction if I'd referred to someone's scurrilous actions as "dicking someone over?" Or if I'd refereed to someone's non-productive behavior as "dicking around"? Because to my mind those usages are exactly as offensive as referring to something being difficult as being "a b-word". And, even if I did agree that any usage of these words was inherently offensive (which I don't), and if I also agreed that woman have historically faced and currently deal with types of oppression and discrimination that men never have (which I do), does it really make sense to call for limits on words that have potentially negative associations for one sex, but allow for the use of equivalent words for the other? See, I don't really like where that's headed. Nor do I think it's worthwhile or productive thing to request, advocate or work toward.

If that word filter is, in fact, in place because TPTB here don't want the word used, then I have no problem abiding that, I don't make the rules. But, the only other wordfilter I know of in place here was (is?) a bit of a joke, expressing ridicule for a certain popular platform toy. Also, if they'd wanted limitations on that or any other specific word, it seems they would've been mentioned in the rules, rather than taking the choice to auto-alter folks' posts to something silly and a little embarrassing for using a word that's allowed on non-pay television. And then there's the fact that cunt seems to post fine. These are the things that led me to ask, twice, about the intent behind the filter. Obviously, I'm not going to continue to type out b i t c h to bypass the filter. I was merely doing that so I the word in question I was asking about would be recognized. I would like to know more about filters that are being "worked on" as you claim. If the "B word" is really considered too offensive to use here in any context, and if there's more of that to come, I find it worrisome.

And I'm well aware you may have already blocked me. I wish you luck with that.

Jeez, way to be a pompous ass about it. It's been like this forever, personally I've come to accept this inconsistency as one of SB's quirks. It certainly doesn't bother me enough to start throwing walls of text at everyone and launch into a fundamental debate about it in some random thread.

You seem to be conflating my curiosity about the existence of the filter with my reaction to gatio's "suggestion" that I not use a certain word, a suggestion I felt unreasonable for the reasons I explained. Stating a comment with "can you not?" and ending it with "thanks for understand" is something I took offense too, particularly when he accused me of using wording that "offend(s) a whole gender", when I'd said that coloring a detailed work would "be a b*tch". Not only do I not think that most women would not have a problem with that turn of phrase, I know that plenty of women use that word in ways that actually are potentially offensive, so not only did I find his reasoning dubious and his request unreasonable, but I felt that said request was delivered in a condescending fashion. So I addressed that. In the thread in which the "request" was made Without calling anyone a "pompous ass".

Yep. There is nothing wrong with enthusiasm but it can easily end up looking slightly cray-cray.

I'm responding to things people have said to me. You're probably going to need to be more specific if there's something in particular that I've said that you have a problem with.

And as far as "looking...cray-cray" goes, my psychological state is so removed far from the one enjoyed by the vast majority of regular folks that you couldn't possibly comprehend it. I'm not really sure how that invalidates any thing I've said, though. And kinda weird that you would criticize a person who's responding to someone who's upset about supposedly derogatory usage of language against a group, by characterizing that person, who actually suffers from mental illness, as "cray-cray". I mean, either we need to walk on eggshells around here or we don't.

Move this stuff to the F**k You thread or whatever it's called. Odibex, you're posting way too much - not just in this thread but throughout the whole board. I'm sure you're a nice guy but I don't need to read 30 posts from you every day.. Just calm down a little.

That preorder looks just about right. I'm gonna jump on it. You always have great illustrations @badteethcomics

And @Odibex I didn't block you, I just got busy with work to reply. I'll do it later on the FU thread or over message, I hope we can see eye to eye eventually.

I definitely think you have a say as to what's doing in the threads you make, and I'll honor that, and I apologize for the derailment (I'm going to make this last post on this here here to answer you, though). As far as "posting to much" goes, I'm not sure how to measure that. If certain, or most, of my comments aren't contributing to the community, I'm open to that criticism and would want know about it it. I realize you guys aren't used to someone posting as often nor as verbosely as I do, and I'm sure that's probably off-putting to some people, but I'm not sure that means my entire posting approach needs an overhaul. If I'm being an asshole or I'm out of line in any specific instance I'm definitely open to those kinds of concerns.

This kind of strikes me as someone who's sitting in front of the TV ranting about how sucky the show is because they're too lazy to get up and find the remote. I'm sorry, are you guys under some sort of contractual obligation to read every post I make? If you don't like it, don't "watch" it. That's kind of how the internet works.

I'm feeling a bit defensive at the moment, but I'm going to try to give you guys some explanation anyway. The internet is almost entirely my only source of social contact, and SB is the only community I'm engaged with at present where there's actually people whom I find interesting and want to engage with. I literally have no friends in real life, haven't for a very long time and likely never will. The only time I leave my house is when I see my mother (which I do not because I'm particularly fond of her, but because it's my only chance to talk to someone), which happens about once a week (if we happen to be speaking), and occasionally when I hire a cab to get groceries (if that need doesn't line up with when I see my mom). Other than that, I spend 6 out of 7 days of the week without leaving the house and without speaking (oh, and I've been on Facebook for 7 years, and I've collected exactly 35 friends, if that helps put things in perspective for anybody) I doubt you guys probably understand the need and compulsion for social contact that we as humans have, since you take it for granted, but it's pretty significant.

Also, to get what's going on, you probably have to couple my basic need for social contact (or even just the compulsion to express one's self) with the fact that I mostly have no other diversion to occupy my time besides the internet, If I've found a video game that's good enough to compel me to play it, I do that. I have a stack of old comic collections sitting there, but I haven't had the motivation to crack them open in some time. I spend the hours between when I wake and when I go to sleep in front of my monitor, excluding mealtime, when I watch the shows I'm following or the occasional movie. Not something I like to have to disclose, but there you go. This is my lot in life. This will not change. I'm on the best meds I've been able to find and therapy has not proved beneficial for me. I don't really experience much actual suffering due to condition anymore, and I'm grateful for that (their are many who do), but I'm pretty sure that's the best I can hope for.

So, yeah, I get that what I'm doing is not standard fare, but just because something is uncommon I don't think it should necessarily be condemned or even discouraged, which is how some of the feedback here is coming across to me.

    And, again:
No, you don't, actually. Was there something that led you to belive you did?

I'm sorry to hear about your condition - but I'm sure you can find things to do to take up your time. Not saying that in a "piss off from Skullbrain" sense but more for your own sanity.. if you can play video games I'm guessing your condition won't prevent you from maybe taking up a creative hobby like drawing or sculpting your own toy. You seem to love writing so maybe start up a blog - which in return could open up your social circle online. My biggest beef was that you were posting so frequently that it was becoming a stream of nonsense. A lot of us came here for discussion about toys and the scene - and we try to only post when we have something of substance to say. And even though there are times where your name is listed as the most recent post on 75% of the current threads, I still read the threads just in case there is something substantial and relevant there.. I haven't given up on you yet!

Anyway - back on track for this thread.. how about some SB first look previews? Haven't posted these online yet so enjoy!

Also, thanks @gatiio ! Glad you dig it :)

It's apparent from the things you're saying that you have absolutely no idea how mental illness works, yet, apparently, feel qualified to council on it. I'm taking this to private convo, because you don't want me doing here what I would need to do to properly respond to you. I did, however, need to, at the very least, point up that particular bit of ignorance that a lot of people don't seem to get, Did not expect to encounter it here, though.

Please do, @badteethcomics ! It seems using a silver or glitter for a base adds a TON of depth to a piece. Really gonna have to give that a try some point soon.

Agreed, I know you're trying to validate your points and maybe there is some disconnect in communication but it seems like you're arguing with everyone more than posting about toys. I get it we've all been there, but you've come out of left field with a million posts a day all of a sudden, try to stay focused on toys and not arguing with everyone? Yes I know you were defending yourself but sometimes just let it go......
